My first ever test?!

Hello, I have been TTC since January and have been dipping in and out of these threads and have met some lovely ladies but to be honest don't hang around that much as it makes me feel a bit sad as it doesn't seem to be happening for me . . .

Anyway, since Jan I have had regular 33 day cycles and never been late so I've never needed to test - but this month I am 2 days late!! No symptoms just feel like I'm about to get my period any second. (I do feel a bit hot today -symptom?).

Also, DH and I only did it once (pathetic I know!)13 days ago. So really - what are the chances!

Sooo should I crack open the test I bought in January or wait another day??

I am up the spout after a lucky shot from DH after we stopped "trying". Once can be all it takes!!!

Though did do a few tests which were neg while we were trying - it can run into money...

If I were you i wouldn't be able to help myself!

Do you want to do the test now - is DH there - or wait for him to get home? Or just go for it? Or not...???

Ooh so exciting!

I would wait another day, that will be 14 days after you did the deed, and a test should be accurate.

Hi just wanted to say it really only takes once. Dp and myself were ttc for nearly four years, temping, regular sex etc. We were just about to go for IVF and had basically given up trying naturally, when lo and behold I got a bfp and we only had sex once that entire cycle

So test, test, test

Even though I'm desperate for you to test, I'm going to put my sensible hat on and say wait untill the morning please, you will get a much better result with first morning pee.

The day i got my bfp I did 7 tests, and they got weaker and weaker untill the last one was barely visible, which as you can imagine made me panic like mad, and i was a few more days late than you.

The next morning the test was nice and strong again, i would just hate for you to have a false negative

God how sad - since being at home on mat leave, in my minds eye I see all the women on MN sitting at home as well - even though I have now gone back to work. What a freak!

Anyways...

Yes yes test and let us know!!!

LOL ChukkyPig - well as you can see, I'm doing lots of high powered important work at my work!

SatHereSitting and belgo - yes you are right, I am 2 days late but that must mean I ovulated late if I managed to get preg 13 days ago (right?).

Will see how I feel later!

ooh I would test, but do it first thing in the morning.

Don't worry - once is all it takes. Sometimes all the talk on here makes it seem like MNers BD all the time, but honestly we're not all doing it that often! especially those of us with full time jobs who are usually too exhausted to even consider it most of the time.

its more important to get the timing right than to BD a lot.

Hi ChukkyPig and belgo - thanks for checking in! Well - I couldn't decide all evening then did a test just before I went to bed (ignoring all advice kindly given on here!) - BFN

BUT - I still haven't come on, not even any spotting which I usually get a couple of days before.

So I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens . . . but am feeling very frustrated now. Will test again tomorrow morning if still nothing (was a 2-pack test!)
