Ovulation pains

Before I was on the pill, I had shocking period pains on my first day of AF, but now coming off the pill, my SF is pretty light, but I get shocking pains at ovulation. so bad, I can't walk very easily as it causes shock waves and I have to sit down very carefully. the only way to make the pain go away is to completely rest, but then I only have to move around for a little while and the pain comes back in waves. the first time I got it it lasted days and the GP hadn't a clue what it was, but my mother (was a midwife) told me that it was ovulation pains and was my ovaries spasming.

what annoys me is that this stops me from having sex because of the pain! does anyone else get this?

Hi Moogatron,

I think this problem should actually be investigated further by a gynae as endometriosis may be a possible cause. The facts that you need to completely rest, the pain coming in waves and it stops you from having sex are all possible indicators of endometriosis being present.

Also ovulation pains by their nature don't last for days on end and cause such pain.

I would insist on a referral to a gynae asap particularly if this keeps happening. Endo though is usually diagnosed only through laparoscopy, blood tests and ultrasounds do not detect it.

Hey everyone

New to this website so hope the questions i ask can be answered! but here gooes... ok i came of marvelon after five years to concieve at the end of september. The next day i bled very hevily for 7 days, was this a withdrawal bleed or was this a period???? Thing is i stopped taking marvelon 5 pills into a pack(understand this may have not have been the best thing to do!) but anyways i havn't a clue if and when i will have my period again, but last night, after a nap, i woke with a really sharp pain in my lower left abdomen, which hurt when i laughed. This pain then spread all over lower tummy like bad period cramps and then just stopped blank.Dd wake up with abdomen pain still but that has gone now. Is this ovualtion??? i dont have the clear mucus though, but do feel quite bloated with higher libido. Hope this all makes sense and someone can give me some advice!!
Would ask my mum but keeping our trying for baba to ourselves at the mo, thank god for this website!!
