hello ladies,
thanks munchiesmama for pointing me in right direction to this thread. After several mc's and a mmc i am about to start shortly on the following treatment plan. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Aspirin daily,
prednisolone 25 mg from ovulation to 12 weeks (if i get that far!!!)
Progesterone suppositries (think i start these at ovulation)
Heparin injections from BFP (hopefully).

Have any iof you had a go with these tx's?

If this fails then we have to stop as we do not have enough money to go any further using Humira or IVIg infusions so fingers crossed these drugs work for us!!!!

BTW does a lady who uses the name Oinker ever post on here anymore?
Takecare everyone.

I've had to ring up Doctor to get re-refered to allergy consultant who discharged me having found out that I am allergic to paracetamol, and slightly allergic to codeine - so can have it in an emergency... but what if I've got a headache - can I take ibuprofen or asprin - registrar said 'you are more likely to be allergic to that so best avoid it' - well, sorry, am I allergic to it or not? Is there anything I can have if I do get a headache???

GGGRRRR!

Mistle Sorry you are having more hassles
Sue10 Hi and welcome sorry to hear about your losses, hope you find some support with us lot

Well it looks as though it's all over for me before it's begun I started spotting yesterday lunchtime, TMI alert, very pale and watery but just when I go to loo and wipe. Feel a bit crampy this morning, just want AF to appear if it's going to so I know where I am, can't believe this is happening again I presume it would be classed as a chemical pg? I did another test this morning with FMU, clearblue this time (the other two were sainsburys) this was BFN
Don't know what to think, feel very bewildered

MollieMoo - I hope you are wrong. Lots of hugs - I know they are not 'the done thing', but sometimes they are the best thing to offer.

I'm hoping that the G&T will make my headache go away as I can't take anything for it at the moment...

Munchies & Mistle Thanks for the hugs, feeling better already Still spotting but no cramps or full on AF so really unsure what's happening, will just have to wait and see.
Mistle Hope the G&T worked?!

MM fingers crossed. So many people talk about bleeding early on. I do hope that that is the case for you.

G&T has resulted in more of a hazy headache rather than full-on ache...

Well I had my consultants appt today following the 2 m/c's, what an experience that was, I shall copy my post from the other thread

Well appt today was at 4.30pm but the consultant was running 1.5hrs late so we saw his registrar at 5.45pm, unfortnately her english wasn't very good so we had trouble understanding her. She started to fill in a form with my pg/mc history on it, when I mentioned that I'd had +ve tests last week I asked if it could be residual hormones and she said no, that I was pg, so she stopped filling in the form and said there was no point continuing with that. She then took bloods to check HCG levels to see if it's a viable pg, told me to call for the results tomorrow, if they are too low then the ward will rebook me to see consultant (God knows when probably next year!) if they are high enough I will have repeat bloods on Thursday.
So she's confirmed that I am or have been pg but that's about it, it's just another bloody waiting game and I didn't even get to see the consultant. I'd gone armed with all these questions and info and got nothing
I did 2 more HPT's this morning, I did a clearblue digital which said "not pregnant" god those words hurt don't they? And a third sainsburys one which was +ve again, confused - I certainly am!
My spotting which stopped this morning, started again this afternoon, I don't feel the tiniest bit pg, so have decided I've lost this one too, will just make it easier when they tell me tomorrow.
Sorry for such a long rant, but feel miles better for getting it all off my chest.

Hi everyone, I've posted on the thread before but have recently had to change names. I've not been on MN that much in the last couple of weeks as RL has been so hectic. Fortunately its helped the time pass and I'm now on CD2 of my first AF since my mc a month ago. Bit of a funny milestone to pass isn't it - I don't know whether to be sad or pleased and consequently am a bit all over the place at the moment. Its only been four weeks so at least my body has been able to get things sorted quite quickly I guess.

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through MollieMooma, and how crap that they didn't let you see the consultant after all! CBD's are notorious for not giving a +ve till much later than many other tests, so the Sainsbury's one could well be right. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Mistlethrush, I have loads of allergies too and the doctors have given up testing so now I just have to avoid a huge amount of things, just in case, or at the very least have my asthma inhaler and anti-histamines on standby each time I eat a salad! Its a bit hit and miss as to whether I react or not these days so have lots of sympathy for you. As a short term glitch to your headache query, have you ever tried 4head? Its a little stick a bit like a chapstick but not as greasy, that you put on your forehead...I find it really effective. Just a thought.

Hi LTE - thanks for the suggestion - I'll look into it. Trouble is that last time I had paracetamol I ended up in A&E and having to be admitted - if it was something slightly less drastic that I could cope with at home it wouldn't be so bad!

Whilst your body might have got things sorted - don't expect to be emotionally straightened out yet - its also probably why you feel all over the place a bit at the moment. Give yourself some time and space and don't expect too much of yourself...

After much rnning around and back and forth to hospital they confirmed by blood tests that I was pg and then wasn't They think the fetus died straight away after conception Coming so soon after 2nd mm/c I've been in a bit of a muddle and still in confusion over what's happening with my body as it seems to be in shock No AF since ERPC 7 wks ago, even though hosp confirmed no longer pg on Thursday I still had a faint +ve HPT on Saturday morning, I know I'm not pg but very confused?? Also think I'm OVing at the moment too, so who knows what's going on
How are you feeling hun?

Moliemooma - sorry to hear your news, all sounds pretty confusing.

Having a bit of a mare... I had a MMC at 11.5 weeks - lost baby at 9.5 weeks back in march and know feel I am losing the pg again...

Does anyone know how things work with Dr Lesley Regan's clinic?? Am 8.5 weeks pg and convinced I've lost it - pg symptoms have been tailing off and I am desperate to get some info re attending Dr Regan's clinic.. Not sure I can wait to go through a 3rd pregnancy and miscarriage ie -

  1. can you go privately? (can't actually afford it but but am prepared to borrow it from the bank!) - And how much do appointments and scans etc actually cost?

  2. Would I be able to get a D&C at her clinic and have the tissues analysed...or get it done elsewhere and have the results sent there?

  3. Generally, how long do you usually have to wait for an appointment?

If you guys don't know I don't know who will... I just need to know if this is even a possibility as I know I won't rest until I fix it. Wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow, I just want this sorted out.

nauseous First of all you need to confirm your worst fears, you may not be losing this pg but I understand why you are so worried due to your history. Symptoms do vary day to day and week to week so it's not always an indication. Is your GP understanding? If you contacted them would they refer you for a scan at the EPU or do your EPU accept direct referrals, you could just ring them and see.
As for the clinic I'm afraid I don't know much about that, but maybe post a seperate thread in the miscarriage section to see if anyone out there is doing the trial already? I'm keeping everything crossed for you and hope you get some answers soon

Hello, was wondering if I could join you. I had my first mc on 14 September at 10 weeks. I already have 2 dc aged 7 and 5 and was hoping for one more to complete the set.

Having had 2 great pregnancies previously I was shocked by the mc and my head is all over the place. It was all very traumatic, ended up collapsing and being taken to A and E in an ambulance, total humiliation! (gorgeous ambulance man and me bleeding all over the place!) All I want to do is talk about the mc and think my dh is getting really sick of my droning on now.

Am feeling really strange now, sore boobs, slightly nauseous...I can't be pregnant again.....can I? Part of me quite excited, but the other 99% is terrified about going though it all again, that it could all end badly and how I would cope this time.

nauseous, I hope it all works out for you

Hi everyone, feel like I've been AWOL so sorry about that.

Nauseous, hope you've managed to get some support and also find out what is going on, I've been thinking of you today.

Mollie, sorry you're having such a rubbish time too, its all hard enough as it is without all the added uncertainty you've been going through.

Hi Patchybob, sorry to hear of your mc, it does rock your world doesn't it - my MC was 28th August at 11 weeks, so similar to yours. I too had to go to A&E as contractions were so painful, but DH took me and had to drop me at the door whilst he went and parked the car and put DS in his buggy etc - poor DS (21 mths). I think it helped me to have them both there (no choice as no support who can have DS) but it did lead to suffering from a kind of delayed shock and having a TOTAL meltdown on the Friday.

As to whether or not your pregnant again, that would rather depend on whether or not you've been trying . Have you had a period since the MC? Maybe you should do a test?

I am on CD10 today following my first period after MC and we're going to start ttc again straight away, in fact, probably tonight if I can get DH off to bed early enough ! I had long cycles before the MC (was ttc for 6 months before conceiving) so CD10 is quite early, but don't want to miss the boat as I've read that a lot of people's cycles can actually seem more settled after MC - although its not the case for everyone of course - just want to cover all eventualities !

Patchybob sorry to hearabout your miscarriage. I thought my DH was getting fed up with me moaning but once I sat him down and told him how utterly sh*te I felt on a daily basis he got it, and is really good about it now. Its a v different experience for men I think they don't quite know how to handle MC - or your reaction and I don't think they realise just how horrible the whole experience is.
Might be early to feel pg symptoms - but you never know. Take it easy..

As for me - called the doctor - I was typically rubbish at begging and settled for a blood test but stupidly forgot to ask what the blood test would show - HCG levels? I've no idea, and how reliable would this blood test be ? basically have to wait till Weds to find out the results - for what they're worth. So.. I'm still no closer to knowing either way, and without a return of symptoms, bleeding or going to some sort of drop in EPU service, I'm no closer to knowing. I DID do a home preg test and it said positive - which great but but I've no idea if this is normal if you're miscarrying or have miscarried. Any ideas anyone?

Think I will ring doctor back tomorrow and be a bit more prepared...

LaTourEiffel, Sorry about your experience, I too was in delayed shock, while the m/c was all going on I was very calm and dealt with it in a very matter of fact way...it was happenning and nothing I could do would change it. It was only afterwards and coming home from hospital that it sunk in and the tears really set in.
Hope it all goes well for you tonight!!! Re us tryng again, we weren't trying exactly but did the deed and now I wonder if it was around ovulation, 2 weeks after m/c?. I haven't had a period yet, if that calculation is anything to go by it would be due at the weekend?

nauseous, What a nightmare having to wait for the blood test results. Hopefully the fact that your preg test still says positive is a good sign, sometimes they stop being positive quite quickly. Keeping everything crossed for you.
I would phone the doctor tomorrow and insist on an early scan, just for peace of mind. With my dd, all my pregnancy symptoms went at 9 weeks and she was fine. Tell the dr how you feel and hopefully they will arrange it for you.

Thanks Patchy that makes me feel a bit better.

Blonde I called St Thomases EPU and I can go wheneever. Going to go Friday as I can't get out of work tomorrow. Feeling quite relieved that there's light at the end of the tunnel. I'm assuming the EPU will give me a scan if I ask for one?? God I hope so.

You could always do one of those early pg tests to find out...? Or you could leave it for a bit while you get your head straight, iykwim.

Nauseous - glad you've got something sorted, even though its not till Friday, and fingers crossed that all is well. x

Patchy, with those calculations you could well be, if AF is due at the weekend then as Nauseous says, an early pg test could pick it up now and almost certainly would over the weekend. Hope you get the result you want

Still feeling strange, very crampy as if due on any minute...if nothing with do a test on monday.

I don't know anyone who has got pregnant before their first period after a m/c....my gp told me to wait until I had one, thats why we weren't trying....I was just feeling sorry for my dh! Patchybob Welcome, sorry to hear of your loss, just to let you know I fell pg straight after 2nd m/c, I had my ERPC on 19/08/09 and found out I was pg 5 wks later when AF hadn't arrived, unfortunately it didn't work out for me and it was a chemical pg but Twilightsurfer on MN fell pg 17 days after her m/c and had a baby in August so it doesn't mean bad news if you are.
Hope everyone else is OK
