Hi guys,

Sorry to hassle you all, I'm new here and all my friends bar one are the type who loathe babies and never want them- one has even been sterilised to make sure. So I can't really ask them and I would ask my mum- who was a midwife, but I don't want to confide in her yet so thought I'd try to confide in a bunch of nice strangers!!

Again, apologies for the lack of acronyms but I don't understand them all yet and also sorry for TMI!! My period was 8 days late arriving today (wednesday). I had light pink spotting on Saturday and again on Monday with some crampy pains, really sore boobs when trying to go running (I stopped at 5 minutes) and very sore nipples from the day after ahem..

My period normally starts quite brown and has done on this occasion, but with none of the previous symptoms I've described and, not reading about implantation bleeding, could this be what I have instead of a period? I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago, and it was negative. Should I just wait this out, count my next cycle ans stop being an idiot?!

hard to know moogatron. i had neg tests at 9 weeks with dd so i'm the first to say a neg test isn't a definite no, however with the spotting i think you should head to the docs. it could be that you lost a baby very early or it could be implantation or it could just be a weird period but there's no harm in asking the gp to do a blood test

good luck

Its such an inexact science isn't it?! Until I started TTC, I had no idea about all this alchemy. As it's day 1 of my 'period' I'll wait for a bit although of course the implantation bleed could last for more than a day!!! ARGHHH!

Thank you for your thoughts though!
