Has anyone ever had a clear dark line on a First Response test? I think I must have peed on a hundred of them during my career as a ttc-er and, in spite of being pregnant three times, have never seen a dark line. Am I abnormal? Do the rest of you get positive lines as dark as the control line?

I've had very faint & one is much clearer but still lighter than the control line. I'm hoping I'm PG but not certain, still early though so will try again in a few days and see if it gets any darker, if still unsure I guess it's off to the gp..

Maybe they are just a bit disappointing, Kitty.
I reckon digital is the only sensible way forward...
(Good luck, btw, I hope you get a really big fat positive instead of these measly FR versions...)

Hehe, thank-you I think I'll try digital at the weekend - my other half has banned me from peeing on anymore sticks till then!

My DH does not know the extent of my stick-peeing habit Kitty, and it is better that way!
Did you get a free digital from the MN/Clearblue giveaway? If not it might not be too late to ask for one.

hehe, there may have been a few that he doesn't know about and probably will be before the weekend
Nooo, I want one!! I'm new to here, so how would I try & get one? I've seen them mentioned in a few threads and they sound pretty good so far

I'v tested with first response a few times and really never got a dark line even when pg, I don't know why everyone likes them tbh. A faint line with fr is really a faint faint line. Would never use them again tbh.

If you are going to use a fr you may as well get cheapies because the line you are going to get is exactly the same. I know they say 6 days before etc and fair enough you may get a line 4 days before but you are going to have to search for it lol.

According to my dates I make it about 9 days early and got a pretty clear line this morning, just not that dark. It's visable, you don't need to search for it.. Slightly confused to be honest!

If you click "active conversations" the top thread that comes up should be the one re the free clearblue tests.
Are you sure you are 9 days early Kitty? I reckon you must have ovulated very early in your cycle to get a BFP at this stage. Or maybe it's twins!

Hehe, well, I am not certain, but my last af was July 31st (or maybe 30th).. I know, all very weird!! So confused as to why I feel they way I do and have had 3 BFP, even if 2 very faint.. Hmm.. As for twins don't say that! hehe, they run in the dh's side, though I've been told that's not the case with identicals. though he is, as is his dad and grandad!!!! AGH!! Confused!!!! Don't know what to think, but I'm shattered (in bed now), have pulling pains in my stomach, stupidly tender breasts & obviously the 3 bfp's

though my cycle has been known to vary dramatically in the past... any suggestions?!

It is possible that you ovulated early in your cycle.
Or is there any chance that you might have got pregnant before your bleed and that it wasn't a proper period at all?

Yeah it's possible I ovluated early, I think I might do as I'm sure there was confusion with my ds and due dates due to dates and scans not matching.

Umm.. I really don't think so to be honest, this is our first month ttc!! Plus a differest test (not an early one) came back negative (I may have peed on two different sticks this morning but the FR was def a line, and a reasonable colour, just not dark as I thought..

Congrats Kitty!

I think (I hope as DP has non-identical twin sisters!) that non-identical twins follow down the female line which makes sense I guess as its the woman that needs to release two eggs.
But that isn't too say it couldn't be twins!

I agree with ScaryHairy you may have just ovulated early. If you ovulated on CD9 that would be 7th so you'd be 12dpo, ov'ing on CD11 would be 10 dpo today, still after when you'd be likely to implant and so get your BFP. WHen did you get your BFP? Today?

Hi Claire, Thanks!

Yes, the clearer one was this morning, the faint ones were last night, then I remebered it's best in the mornings so tried again this morning.
Thanks for your knowledge I'm useless at figuring all of this out!!
