Hello! I wonder if anyone knows whether it is worth doing bbt charting whilst still breastfeeding and with no period? My dd is 4 months and I'd like to get pregnant again quite quickly. BBT charting worked really well for me the first time round!

I haven't got my period back yet but have read that it tends to come back once you are feeding less regularly - dd goes about four hours between feeds now, so I guess ovulation could be possible.

So, is there any point doing BBT before I get my first period? I know you can ovulate before your first period but is it possible that you might start ovulating more regularly but without a period in between?

Actually, on re-reading that, I realise it's probably quite a stupid question but just wondered if anyone had more knowledge on this than me!

It is completely possible to ovulate before your first period, in fact you would expect to.
A BBT chart would definitely give you a heads up on when it was happening, but you may find yourself charting for months before your ovulation/period returns.
I know that some people get their periods back after only a couple of months even when BFing, but personally, my periods never returned until I stopped when DD turned one year old.
I had one period and then conceived DC No. 2 on my second.
