Currently on cd38 with no period.
I had a day 21 progesterone test done on this same cycle, and the results would have been passed onto the fertility clinic I am under the care of and who also asked me to have this test.
However on going to see my gp about another matter she actually had the result of this test there.
It said that my progesterone was low I think it was only 0.7 although I need to verify that.
The fertility clininc also wanted me to have the day 2 test but so far I have not been able to because of no period.
I don,t know what to do I am freaking out on several things such as why was my progesterone low, why I am on cd38 with no period again.
Also I can't bear waiting until the 27th of june to see the gyno but they can,t accomodate me any sooner.
I have been having irregular periods all of the time I have been ttc going 2 months without one etc.
Sorry needed to let it all out.
What should I do just sit it out until the 27th of june and try and relax.
I do also have thyroid problems which has been pinpointed as a possible cause of the irregular periods.

I have been investigated for pcos and I don,t have it.
anniemac I am worried that I had no ovulation because of diminished ovarian reserve maybe thats the root cause of the irregular periods.
I am concerned about early menopause because its in the family.
On the other hand I have a underactive thyroid and I know that can cause all sorts of problems with ovulation, hormones etc.
How do I know for sure thats what is buggung me.

I have only had one visit so far to the fertility clinic difficult to decide how I rate the consultant I saw although she was very nice.
She wants to do blood hormone tests first ie day 21, and day 2 tests to determine as she put it if I am perfectly normal or if I am going to need their help to concieve.
I know from speaking to my gp that the progesterone test was low but I have not had the day 2 test done as yet due to no period.

My doctors phoned this morning regarding the results of my latest thyroid function test, and they have stated I need a increase in my thyroxine, not sure what the actual tsh level is yet I have an appointment to speak to the doctor tomorrow about it.
So here I go again this blasted thyroid condition is going to ruin any chance I have of concieiving before its too late.
This damn condition has probably wasted so much precious time for me.
I feel old and bitter about it.

The low progesterone just means that you had not ovulated in the 7 days before it was taken - and that is quite normal and to be expected if you are on day 38 now, especially if you have irregular periods and therefore don't really know when you will ovulate. probably this is just a liong cycle and you are going to ovulate later.

It is difficult though as you only know you get it at the right time when you know you had it done 7 days before you period - so sometimes you need to have the bloods done weekly for several weeks to 'catch' the right time.

Try and get some more bloods done - worth getting the progesterone done again at least, although the others do have to be done at the beginning of the cycle.

I had a similar thing last cycle - I had bloods done on day 21, 28 and 35 - all less than 1. Still no period by day 42 so I gave up at that point.

After another 3 weeks I had light spotting and a positive pregancy test! (It went on to be an early MC, but at least I know I was pregant). So all those early bloods just had not been done at the right time for a long cycle, as clearly I did ovulate that cycle!
