Can faint positive hpt results fade after a few hours?

I got a positive result on Saturday morning, the water drew up the test and you could see straightaway where the line was going to be, I left it for 5 minutes and then checked it. It was all dried and there was a faint pink line. I got OH to look at it and he said yes there is a faint pink line.

I left it by the bathroom shelf and saw it about 10 hours later, the colour had faded a lot but you could see a line. I'm wondering now if that was an evaporation line.

What do you think ladies?

I should have just thrown it in the bin.

I'll just have to wait a couple of more days and test again I suppose.

Oh poor thing, nobody has answered!!

Well, it depends...is the line still pink? An evap would tend not to have any colour, just be like a greyish clear line iyswim. If it lightened a bit but stayed pink, I'd say that's a BFP

It's the colour that maketh the line.
I think mine lightened after drying out.

Are you late?

thank you
It was pink yes then it faded hours later, to almost like a grey colour this morning, so I don't know what to think.

I've just done a CB but it was negative. AF was due Friday so I'm wondering if it's not been a viable pg.

I'm never late.

Give it a few more days and then explain to your GP what has happened. Keep positive. It still could be a bit too early to tell.

bubhub I've just posted on another thread about the exact same thing. I did a first response on Saturday and got a very definate positive, only to do a CB today and get a line so faint I can hardly see it. AF was also due Friday and I was also wondering if pregnancy wasn't viable but think that just some tests are more sensitive than others maybe.

Thats what I'm hoping anyway. Hope it all works out for you.
