How common are 'accidents' with condoms?

My partner and I do not plan to have a third child, but I suppose that secretly I wouldn't mind if it just 'happened'. I couldn't face actually 'trying' for one as I am (in my sensible state of mind) not up for it (bad second pregnancy, find looking after two exhausting already,etc..).

So, my question is, what are the odds of it just happening. We only use condoms, and dp only puts it on half way through intercourse, when he feels is is about to come). Any experiences of getting pregnant with this practice?

Yes, DS happened this way. DD only 8 months old at the time so not what we were planning at the time. Now we are very careful as do not want any more!

if you are taking chances like this, then you might well end up pregnant

before a man ejaculates, he resleases sperm anyway, so if he is inside you wihtout a condom , there is a chance you can get pregnant.

your DP needs to understand that this is not a reliable method of contraception if he does not want more children. especially if you are secretly hoping it will happen

always baffles me when couples do not want more children, but do not use adequate contraception.

sounds more like you need a talk with your DP about more children and how he would feel if you got pregnant now, using this method of contracpetion

If you are going to use this as a your method of contraception over the next few years then I would think there's a pretty good chance you would get pregnant tbh. Sperm can be released earlier in intercourse as well as at orgasm. Obviously the chances of an 'accident' will be higher if you have sex when you are ovulating. Does your dp realise that you run a chance of pregnancy with this method? It might be better to talk about that sooner rather than later.
