Conception

Quick Question: Am I right in thinking a BFN using a First Response, on the day your period is due, means you really aren't pregnant?

probably, but could be false negative as you know
depends how regular you are.. was your AF definitely due today?

i know the first response ones are more sensitive though, aren;t they?

Only if I am not pregnant then, which would explain the lack of onset of labour but not the huge stomach and three scans

Took a few days for me to get a positive with both ds2 and ds3, using first reponse / clear blue.

Lulu, you were supposed to say "No, if you were pregnant, it will show" no beating around the bush!!!

Cycles have been 30 days and 29 days since the MC, today is CD29, got a huge belly (see bottom pic on profile) weeing loads, sore boobs, had a nose bleed (only ever get them while pregnant) and had some very stange CM, but really don't feel pregnant, getting all worked up about what is causing the belly if it isn't pregnancy, can't get to doctors till Thursday afternoon.....

Water retention for an overdue period could cause the belly, don't worry about that too much

Ah blardy hell Peachy, you are worse than Lulu!!!

I was 9 days late (for period) before I got a BFP with DS2, but I was fairly convinced that a FR test would pick up something by now (if it was there?)

Belly has been growning daily since Friday before last, don't normally get water retention, or bad wind, or intorlerences to wheat, or anything else that has been said about the belly!

Going around in circles so fast, I am starting to get dizzy......

yikes, that is some belly

am a bit baffled

unless you have talked yourself into feeling pregnant and are having a phantom pregnancy !

is your belly soft? no hard bits?

Belly is hard, and getting harder by the day...... ARGHHHHHHH I was so convinced it couldn't be pregnancy, for surely it would have shown on a FR, damn it...................!

I have clutched at that many straws, my hands hurt....

I didn't get a BFP with my DS until my period was nearly a week late. I used First Response and Clearblue digital / non-digital tests and nothing. Wait a few more days and try again if no AF.

So Peachy isn't a freak one off?!

Oh I am a freak, but not a one off- loads of us LOL

Seriosuly, worth seeing GP but it really isn't unusual to get a false negative, false positives are the rare ones. However, the stomach swelling is intriguing, as unless it was a multiple pregnancy- which would IIRC show up earlier on a PG test because of the HCG levels- it's a bit unusual.

LOL Peachy

I do tend to show early and hugely, DS1 was about 12 weeks, DS2 6 weeks, MC (in January), about 5 and a half weeks, but at the time my belly started getting big this time (if I am pregnant) I'd have only been about 3 weeks, which surely is just too early? Even bearing in mind it's only been a couple of months since I was big with the MC.

Period is still a no show, had a few cramps earlier so thought it was going to come, but nope, nothing.

Don't know if that is good or bad...?!

NatalieJane - I was a week late with mine and wasted about 8 tests trying to get a BFP.

Loads of people told me 'sometimes it can take longer to show up' even the doctor I went to see, even my mother who had 3 kids. It's true - sometimes it can, but as far as I can tell it's more likely that you're not pregnant!

Hope you are but I found out the hard way!

Gah!

I don't know what to think anymore, I look at my belly and think I must be pregnant, but then I don't know if I am just thinking that to cover up the worry of what it is if it isn't pregnancy.

I wish my period would just come, if nothing else it would mean I could have a glass of wine tonight!

Only 'I think'! I could see it, DH couldn't!

I am out of tests (typically) so am holding off weeing (not going to well at the moment!!) waiting for British Gas to fix boiler, and then am going to run into town, with my legs crossed, get a test and do it when I get home.... If I can hold my wee!! LOL

To be honest your belly wouldn't change much in very early pregnancy - certainly not enough to see a difference.

Hope it is a line though
