Realised two nights ago hadn't been back for 8 week check (should have had it 8 wks ago ). Rummaged. Couldn't find it.

Nurse can't find it. Now waiting for scan to see if gone up, or out!

Pg test neg so not pg as of two weeks ago, but bricking self as could not possibly cope with another child while DS so tiny.

Also worried that Mirena roaming around inside - anyone know if this is problem?

Could be weeks till I find out.

I got pg with a mirena still in place. They just left it there until I delivered. Midwives checked placenta and everything and couldn't find it, but no-one seemed all that concerned, and I got a scan about 2-3 months after DD was born. So I don't think that it is seen as a problem if it is still there or they would have scanned quicker than that.

Never did find mine

Can you get a scan privately , to save time?

it couldn;t really roam inside, without actually perforating your uterus, and that if it happens, is done accidentaly when it is inserted, AFAIK.

more likely it came away, do you recall any odd cramps or bleeding or anything?

No bleeding at all apart from the usual spotting after installation (this is my third). Hardly any cramps.

Can't BELIEVE I forgot to go back, was so sleep-deprived I was a walking zombie (DS was getting up 3 times in night and starting day at 5am) but this is no excuse when something is this important.

Can't stop kicking myself. F*king, f*king IDIOT.

Re scans, dunno about private. Lovely nurse said she would put stomach pains, URGENT on form so it sounds worse and I get seen a bit quicker, maybe in a week or so.

don;t be so hard on yourself. yuo say you have had a neg test...so if it was at least two weeks after sex then highly, highly unlikely you are pregnant.

Have had neg test, but have had sex since then - only once, so yes we should be OK. But the possibility, faint as it is, is still a bit unsettling!

I recently had my mirena out after 5 years insitu, i then decided to have another one inserted, it was very painful, more so than the first time, i was doubled up with pain, so went bk 2 docs, who told me my body had rejected it, and it had tried to expel itself, but only half of it come out, hence the pain, so i think you'd know if it had come out! How long had you had it in situ?
