Sorry about the not very catchy title!!
Have just finished BF DC2 (aged 16mths) 3 weeks ago and have still not had an AF. Have not had one since TTC DC1 - finished BF DC1 at 17months and then got pg before having AF so was hoping maybe to do the same this time. Have been having period pain type feelings for a week or so but no sign of anything. Do you think that that's a sign of preganacy or just my body taking time to sort itself out? I assumed that as I had conceived DC2 straight away then my AF would have come that time if I had not conceived. Had anyone else had this happen? Have not had very much sex since finishing BF , but it is still a possibility I suppose? Have done a couple of tests but nothing showing up.

It varies from person to person. 2 months for me I seem to remember (but it was about 12 years ago so I may have got that wrong!)

So you don't need AF before conceiving 2nd? I want another and am still b/feeding and don't want to stop just to get my hormones to concentrate on me again!

I have several friends who conceived no.2 whilst bf, but others have had to wait ages. You just can't generalise, unfortunately.
