am off to see specialist in Sep as ttc for more than 1.5 years. Know that I ovulate from charting and blood tests have confirmed this (as much as they can) but my prog levels didn't seem too far above the basic level (35 nmol/l on day 20) and I'm wondering if you can just be treated for low progesterone to lengthen LP. Has anyone used natural progesterone cream?

Hi,

I could be wrong but I understand that a progesterone level of 30 or more is "normal"

You can have a level from zero up. Therefore I don't think that they would treat you if yours is 35.

The level can also vary month to month.

Mine was 34. I am seeing a consultant next week when I will ask about the levels i got for the day 3 and day 21 tests but all it says on the lab reports is "normal - no action required"

I've been looking at some sites (mostly medical studies) where there seems to be some debate as to how to measure whether ovulation has occurred. Some claim (though admittedly from 1980s) that there is a cutoff of 40 and some say that it is only a best guess as the only proof that ovulation has definitely occurred is pregnancy! I know NHS uses 30 so I am OK there.

I am 99% sure that I have no problems ovulating but I'm not so sure I have a good second half of my cycle regarding sustaining a pregnancy. Anyways I'll also wait to see what the consultant says next month. Will also be interested to see what he gleans from my day 5 results (couldn't get appt on day 3!).
