'Tis a shame though - I don't necessarily want to know who she is, just what has happened. (Nosey old me).

NAB3 Wed 12-Sep-07 21:25:25

That is what I mean.

beansprout Wed 12-Sep-07 21:24:00

I think this should go. It just feels like the OP's circumstances have changed, and hassling her is not going to make any difference.

NAB3 Wed 12-Sep-07 21:21:49

Shall we get this deleted??????

Rhubarb Sat 08-Sep-07 19:53:50

maybe she's busy?

bubblagirl Sat 08-Sep-07 19:51:15

MerlinsBeard Mon 27-Aug-07 19:54:38

Otter Mon 27-Aug-07 19:50:20

hmmm interesting!

NAB3 Sun 26-Aug-07 18:27:36

I am thinking maybe things haven't panned out very well which is why whoever it is is staying quiet. Could they maybe tell someone at MN head quarters who can pass on a message to let it go? Just a thought.

popsycal Sun 26-Aug-07 09:30:41

did this ever get answered?

MerlinsBeard Mon 20-Aug-07 19:18:54

still no ISAA?

belgo Mon 20-Aug-07 18:28:25

foghorn - it's not connertraceptive because she's pregnant already - I've seen her on the antenatel and hyperemesis threads

greenday Mon 20-Aug-07 14:21:26

Yes you're all right! I forgot all about the acronym list. Blush blush!

ScoobyDooooo Mon 20-Aug-07 14:17:53

sorry crossed posts x

ScoobyDooooo Mon 20-Aug-07 14:17:34

Greenday there is a list at the top called acronym list which will help you with all the abbriviations

elesbells Mon 20-Aug-07 14:16:47

greenday its all on the acronym list at the top of your screen.

there are lots that i didnt know that are on there

greenday Mon 20-Aug-07 14:13:12

Phew! What a relief to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't understand some terms over here on MN. And I've been here for nearly a year if that's considered newbie.
Most times I can guage the context without exactly knowing what it stands for, but AF - definitely never heard of it before, so thank you for clarifying!

elesbells Mon 20-Aug-07 14:10:10

are we all still none the wiser as to who it is then?

<subtle attempt to keep it bumped as eles goes off to ponder>

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House Mon 20-Aug-07 14:07:38

100% right

PiggyPenguin Mon 20-Aug-07 14:05:26

Hey Greenday that's not a stupid question, I haven't got a clue what half the stuff on mumsnet means! It comes from being a total newbie I think, I like to think of myself as a mumsnet virgin - eventually someone charming and just well special will come along and initiate me. As it were.

Anyway, I think AF is Auntie Flo, or your period. Someone please tell me if I wrong!

greenday Mon 20-Aug-07 13:39:57

OK, this is a really dumb question, but what is AF?

FoghornLeghorn Mon 20-Aug-07 13:23:36

ConnorTraceptive is my guess - I know she has a DS not a DD but could be calling our bluff

Lio Mon 20-Aug-07 11:55:34

Signing in so I can find out who it is...

InShockAndAwe...are ya back yet?????

LoveAngel Sun 12-Aug-07 21:38:52

Hi there. I've been away from Mumsnet for days, and this is one of the first threads I've come back to - its been so suspenseful, I've loved reading it! BIG CONGRATS. Shame about the son of God thing...but lets face it, you didnt want all those shepherds and kings waving frankincense all over your newborn, eh? :-)

Good luck xxx

Hulababy Sun 12-Aug-07 19:34:39

What an exciting thread! Anyone know when she might be back?

Congratulations Peachy

NAB3 Sun 12-Aug-07 19:27:01

That's okay then. It is justa thought that has come to me twice and I would hate for a newly pregnant lady to be upset.

motherinferior Sun 12-Aug-07 19:26:00

I hardly think that someone who has posted this amount of information MN will be that put out if we work out who she is!

NAB3 Sun 12-Aug-07 19:22:24

Do you think she will be a bit upset if we guess? She may have very good reasons for not letting on to us yet....

Indeed - shall we have a roll call. Starting with those who are on the May-Oct 2006 post-natal clubs and still bf (given she has an approx 1yr old and has only just returned to AF .

surely we must be able to work out who's on vacation right now??

McEdam Sun 12-Aug-07 16:59:35

Ooh, how could I have missed this thread?!

Congratulations shock and awe and Peachy.

looneytune Sun 12-Aug-07 16:52:10

Bouquetsofdynomite Fri 03-Aug-07 18:36:21

Magicmayhem Fri 03-Aug-07 09:32:02

ISAA - Am so very pleased for you - you are through the worst bit (the scary bit) now and you can enjoy your short pregnancy!

Katie3677 Thu 02-Aug-07 15:41:41

Just read through the whole of this thread and it made me cry with laughter, just what I needed. Particularly the bits about forgetting that you've had sex, so true, and such an ego-deflator for poor dh's!

lemonaid Thu 02-Aug-07 14:46:44

I wonder if she's someone who goes to the City meetups? Anyone here go to those and know of someone with a one-year-old?

Peachy Thu 02-Aug-07 11:16:44

ISAA - in the tune of CSI - Who are you? doob doob, doob, doob, Who are you?

MarsLady Thu 02-Aug-07 10:14:58

Before any one asks... it's not me! It's just taken me ages to get round to reading this thread!

Congratulations Peachy

Now ISAA who be thou? Congratulations! A wee miracle in your tum.

So you are in your late 20s, you're intelligent and you're off to France for 2 weeks today, and your MN name is no great shakes so we shouldn't get too excited? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm................ come on MN detectives... deduct and tell the rest of us who this is!

podglet Thu 02-Aug-07 10:06:44

Wow, congratulations - now tell us who you are!

Congrats to Peachy too

Egg Thu 02-Aug-07 09:15:18

Bugger, really want to know who it is. Nobody new has joined our Feb thread yet, except a lady expecting twins who is definitely not ISAA. Grrr.

FoghornLeghorn Thu 02-Aug-07 09:13:58

Are you going to spill yet ?

Oh no .... is she is hols now ?

Peachy Thu 02-Aug-07 09:01:19

FLAME it's yer bloody fault too, if you'd made it to the meet up.......

(OK we were trying for ages but was in the forest lol)

duchesse Thu 02-Aug-07 08:55:52

Well, gleaned from the thread, we know: it's someone still bfeeding a 1 yr old, who is in her late 20s, is back at work, lives in a major city and has over 400 posts on MN. That should narrow it down, no?

Too right. My bf didn't know until she was just past first trimester. Apparently she tends to have light bleeding in early pg which was mistaken both times for a period plus her dh had had a vasectomy after their first, so second ds was very much a surprise

MrsJohnCusack Thu 02-Aug-07 02:26:38

we need to know who you are
great story! Fabulous to not know during the first trimester IMO

Many many congratulations to you!!! Hope that it will continue to be a happy pregnancy for you. What a great story to tell!

BTW, I too managed to be almost 11 weeks pg without figuring it out!

duchesse Wed 01-Aug-07 13:08:31

Funny ISAA- I thought it was that dodgy sea bass. For nearly three blooming months... How thick could I be? Even my boss kept telling me I was pregnant (but then people think that if any women of child-bearing age confesses to feeling slightly nauseous). Lucky I was still breast-feeding, so not drinking much anyway.

congrats lots and lots

InShockAndAwe Wed 01-Aug-07 12:32:00

DH is over the moon. Being a man he is absurdly proud that he was given one shot at impregnating me and against all the odds "his little men" did the business .

It is very exciting. I am not sure we could be more exciting if it had been the child of God and we had needed to engage Max Clifford to handle the international interest.

I just can't beleive that this time yesterday only 1% of my mind was at all suspicious and today I am staring at the picture of little human who has been living inside me all along.

spugs Wed 01-Aug-07 12:30:56

bloody hell, only just found this.
congratulations im very that youve got to miss out those horrible first few weeks. always wished this would happen to me

Gosh no need to feel silly. You have only had one AF in the last year, so much harder to tell if you even might be pg, and if you weren't actually trying as such, then you would of course be putting the feeling crap down to bugs etc.

Congratulation on your new bean

eleusis Wed 01-Aug-07 11:59:03

You must print this thread for the baby book. It will be much fun to read later.

3Ddonut Wed 01-Aug-07 11:56:08

Congrats, glad everything is well.

Idris, the exact same thing happened to one of the girls I work with, I checked your profile and live nowhere near you, so I assume it's a different girl!

NAB3 Wed 01-Aug-07 11:44:05

You can tell us. We won't tell anyone in RL!!

Easywriter Wed 01-Aug-07 11:44:04

I don't think you should feel silly.

You should be feeling lucky and clever cos you are.

Sorry, I'm being gushy, I'm just SO happy for you.

If your child were the son of God... church school or not?

Mercy Wed 01-Aug-07 11:42:55

IdrisTheDragon Wed 01-Aug-07 11:40:12

I had a friend who was 19 weeks before she found out she was pregnant - she hadn't had any periods since her DD was born and only thought she could have been pregnant when she realised there was something inside kicking her .

peanutbear Wed 01-Aug-07 11:39:56

I found out really late to I think if your not trying you just get on with it dont you and hink your a bit undr the weather then one day reality dawns!!!!

Is DP over the moon

Katy44 Wed 01-Aug-07 11:38:10

Oh now I really want to know
Give us a clue...pleaaaaase

InShockAndAwe Wed 01-Aug-07 11:36:48

My regular name is going to be a big anti-climax for you all. Don't ratchet up the suspense too much.

I do need to tell my friends first which I will try and do before I go on hols tomorrow (Had I known my condition I may not have booked a fortnight of indulging in French cheese, wine and salami...).

Am feeling a bit silly this morning. How can an intelligent woman in her late twenties not know her own body well enough to detect that she is one third of a way through a pregnancy??? Beleive me I did not jump straight to blooming - I honestly thought that I just kept getting bugs.

can you imagine the headlines "Bugaboo chosen for the son of God!"

Well i'm of you going to 11 weeks without noticing- no chance here i'm afraid!

meemar Wed 01-Aug-07 11:35:16

Congratulations - how wonderful!

I have some old pg tests upstairs - I may go and wee on one to see what happens

Katy44 Wed 01-Aug-07 11:34:17

And you'd soon have to name him as the father on the birth certificate, imagine that!

FlameParakeet Wed 01-Aug-07 11:33:01

Oh YAY!!!!

(Glad it's not the son of god... think how much hassle it would be with the paparazzi following you all the time )

MerlinsBeard Wed 01-Aug-07 11:30:17

Are we allowed to know who you are now?

popsycal Wed 01-Aug-07 11:28:28

Oh wow!!!!
so when do you reveal your regualr name

Pidge Wed 01-Aug-07 11:26:09

Talk about suspense .... CONGRATULATIONS!

Now we want your tips on how to skip all the vomiting and exhaustion and go straight in to blooming!!!

HonoriaGlossop Wed 01-Aug-07 11:25:49

Wishing you a very happy pregnancy!

NadineBaggott Wed 01-Aug-07 11:11:51

Congratulations, marvellous news.

You know, in my day you didn't get to find out until you'd missed to periods anyway. Much better I think, pregnancy is long enough without finding out after a day!

InShockAndAwe Wed 01-Aug-07 10:54:56

Guys I am so, so sorry to keep you all on tenterhooks. I had no idea how many of you would be waiting around.

Mia Culpa. Mia Culpa. Any way enough Christian cantations. Although I should be practising because...

Was reeling after scan. Still am. Can't quite figure it out at all. Am off to see GP today to discuss bleeding etc. The doctor at the scan place said all looked well . He said that such heavy bleeding was very unusual but can happen. He suggested several possiblities including a lost twin . But bascially he told me to talk to my own doctor.

I am afraid I was in such shock I picked up DD and went to my in-laws as DP was not coming back 'til very late. In-laws don't have internet access. If its any comfort I was dying to get on here almost as much as you were dying for me to give an update.

So to summarise. Its not the Son Of God. It was conceived in the usual way. But God only knows what the AF was.

I am and all at once.

OliveIsSoNotHereAndOnABreak Wed 01-Aug-07 09:59:38

this happened to a relative of dh's

pregnant, had miscarriage

then still felt pregnant, did test, was still pregnant

turned out she was pregnant with twins and had lost one, but one survived

not sure how common this is, but this could be the case with ISAA

peanutbear Wed 01-Aug-07 09:57:21

I hope everthing is ok I thought you might be back by now

got everything crossed for you

iliketosleep Wed 01-Aug-07 09:45:13

C'mon ISAA - this thread needs a happy ending!

Sorry- have now read the entire thread, and find that congrats are not yet in the offing.

Easywriter Wed 01-Aug-07 09:05:21

Ooooo! It's 9.03. Surely she's at work but not working.

i.e.typing on MN

I'm thinking of you ISAA and hoping the result last night was what you wanted.

Hope to hear from you soon.

duchesse Wed 01-Aug-07 09:02:39

Happened to me. Didn't believe it till I saw her on the scan, at 11 weeks You shorten the pregnancy to somewhat more manageable proportions.

Anyway, congrats and all that.

Piggy Wed 01-Aug-07 09:01:03

Very good point NQC. Hope she's ok.

Egg Wed 01-Aug-07 08:59:26

Agree also, I used to do PG tests sometimes when we had not had unprotected sex and had little or no chance of conceiving, just because I felt a bit sick...

Really hope news is good.

LittleSquirt Wed 01-Aug-07 08:54:59

I agree.

And she also did explain that she did an HPT as she "felt" pregnant. Doesn't sounds that unlikely or strange to me?

(I hope it's not that, but I'm just saying ...)

Pregnancy hormones, and a positive test result, 8 weeks after a mc means retained materials and a D+C. Which isn't a great prospect, to put it mildly.

eleusis Wed 01-Aug-07 08:52:43

I think it's a bit premature to be calling this a wind up. It has been hours, not days. And if it's true (which I think it is) and she had bad news she will surely not enjoying reading that comment.

It is entirely possible that she miscarried at that heavy period and there is still some pregnancy hormone linguering.

So, let's hold back on the wind up accusations.

belgo Wed 01-Aug-07 08:41:24

some people just don't spend their whole lives on the PC, hard as that is to believe. Let's give her a chance to respond before shouting 'wind up'.

flightattendant Wed 01-Aug-07 08:39:36

I did preg tests all the bloody time just because I wanted to be pg, no matter if I'd had sex at a reasonably useful time

flightattendant Wed 01-Aug-07 08:38:30

I don't think it's a wind up. Far too frank and pleasant OP if you ask me. Just hope it isn't bad news.

wannaBe Wed 01-Aug-07 08:35:04

this is a wind up.

if she hadn't had sex and had had a heavy period why would she do a pregnancy test? makes no sense.

plus if she didn't have a pc at home she would have said that she would update tomorrow..

flightattendant Wed 01-Aug-07 08:28:20

I really hope it wasn't bad news, she won't know what to say if it was

Egg Wed 01-Aug-07 08:25:48

Hopefully some news by 9? If she has no PC at home and has to wait til work? Fingers crossed.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House Wed 01-Aug-07 08:25:06

You know if isaa comes back tonight with a (we are all hoping like mad) positive result then there is gonna be about 50 simultaneous 'Congratulations' posts and (in my imagination) the power surge back to MN headquarters will cause whoever is on duty tonight to be blown backwards off their comfy office chair.

No positive thoughts - she has probably only got back in the last hour or so and is talking and celebrating with her DP. Plus if she is 10 wks along then she might be telling relos and friends before us lot!
Shame I though MN was priority!!

FillydoraTonks Tue 31-Jul-07 20:07:14

Slubberdegullion Tue 31-Jul-07 20:06:18

Maybe she is trying to think up a really catchy and amusing new name as we'll all know who she is forever more after this thread.

Peachy Tue 31-Jul-07 20:05:53

did think that- its fun to be wagering and all but if its bad news she's not going to be wanting to come back now is she?

barbamama Tue 31-Jul-07 20:04:08

Might be upset if she has had a mc. I had a chemical pregnacy where it was still positive at this point but it wasn't that strong though. I vote for early loss of a twin too - hope she is ok, would still be a bit upsetting and a shock I would imagine. This happenned to a friend of mine and she went on to have a normal pg.

meemar Tue 31-Jul-07 20:03:50

I love MN - it's a real life soap opera!

MerlinsBeard Tue 31-Jul-07 20:02:53

MsG Tue 31-Jul-07 19:48:02

Just found this and am too in suspense here. Hope everything is ok, ISAA.

Ellaroo, AF stands for Aunty Flo, ie period! I'm just getting used to the acronyms.

LittleSquirt Tue 31-Jul-07 19:46:56

LOL at your Aunty Flow Chocolate!!!!

meandmyflyingmachine Tue 31-Jul-07 19:45:48

I thought it was something technical to do with ovulation.

Ooh X post and spelling mistake on my part

AF - Aunty Flow - your period

JARM Tue 31-Jul-07 19:44:04

Ellaroo - Aunty Flo as in period

Waswondering Tue 31-Jul-07 19:43:50

AF = aunt flo, or period.

Apparently some people refer to periods as Auntie Flo or similar - a term I had never heard of before cyber space . ..

MintyDixCharrington Tue 31-Jul-07 19:43:47

eurgh, it is horrible, "Aunty Flo" or something, I never use it normally, cringe cringe

FillydoraTonks Tue 31-Jul-07 19:42:59

Ellaroo Tue 31-Jul-07 19:42:08

Please can someone tell me what the 'AF' stands for in InshockandAwe's original post...coming up with all sorts of possiblities - please put an end to these musings which are taking up far too much headspace!

MintyDixCharrington Tue 31-Jul-07 19:41:24

My vote - she is pregnant, quite far along, her last AF wasn't an AF but the miscarriage of a twin, and she is still carrying the survivor....

I bet she comes back and announces she is 9 weeks pregnant or something!

AEHEEJL Tue 31-Jul-07 19:41:16

Quite right lemonaid, and the word used as Virgin is actually just the word for young lady in Biblical times.

This is interesting
