ewcm in daytime but not in evening...effect ttc?

I tend to have ewcm during the day but not in the evening. so I have ewcm today but probably won't have it later this evening then tomorrow I may have ewcm again during the day. Could this effect ttc if only bd in evening.

Is it possible that the ewcm is there in the evening but is high up in cervix.

hi dizzy I have the same problem, its there in the day time and then when i check again before we bd there's nothing there.

The billings method says you should check at the same time everyday and in the same postion, but its too much temptation to keep checking.

Sorry thats no help, hopefully someone else will have something more productive to say.

Oh and they do say 4pm the optimum time for concetion maybe thats something to do with ewcm, do you have it around that time?

I check in the am , pm and then evening so I would say after 6pm I don't see any ewcm.

I have heard of poeple ttc falling pg when bd in the morning. that is a bit difficult when have a 7 year old already that wakes up at the crack of dawn and also with dh working.

I have conceived twice bd in evening so maybe it doesn't make any difference

Have you tried cough medicine, grapefruit juice and all the rest?
I've found they've definatly increased my cm, as i didn't have any stretchy cm before, so maybe it would help you produce more into the evening

Sorry to hijack poast but can you tell me what cough medicine you need and what it's called as I don't know what to ask chemist for as surely he will ask what type of cough I have when I don;t have one but want it for ttc!!!

hi beena you need medicine specific for chesty coughs, look on the back of the bottle and it must contain the active ingrediant guaifensin. This is the stuff that thins your cm.

venos one has it in which you can buy from the supermarket, but personally i think it tastes horrible. I've just bought a cheap one from my local bodycare shop and its much nicer. Hope that helps

Thanks 1wish that's great - I will go on the look out for some. Has it definitely helped your ewcm? How much and how often do you take yours? Sorry for all the questions but it's so nice to find someone who is taking it at the mo.

Thats fine beena its nice to have someone to talk to its been abit quite on here

for a couple of months i was checking my cm and it never seemed egg whiteish. So since about cd3 i've been taking a table spoon of cough medicine, a glass of grapefruit juice, and a starflower oil tablet every day.

I've definatly noticed a difference but as im taking 3 different things its hard to pin point if its mainly the cough medicine. However i was reading on a US site that said robussitin (sp?) is regularly precribed to women with cm problems, and all it basically contains is guaifenesin, so medically it must have proven qualities.

And... sorry to go on but i've found the cheaper cough medicines are the best because they contain less ingrediants, and higher levels of guaifenesin.
How long have you been trying beena?

Thanks - you have been such a help. It's great you have noticed a difference already. I don't seem to have any ewcm and have been watching for it since January.... Could be due to previous surgery for pre-cancerous cells I have read. We have been practising ttc since the new year. Hubby likes to say practising as we weren't properly trying like we are now if you get me (I am taking waking temp and charting and taking all the supplements etc). I am willing to do anything to get some excm as that will give us more chance!

How long have you been ttc for?

And what is your cheaper cough medicine called and where did you get it again?

I've been ttc for about 20 months and have been referred to a fertility unit.

Hopefully not to much to worry about, tests have shown my womb and tubes are fine i'm just not ovulating every month, as my periods are irregular. But i'm doing all i can to keep trying just incase i ovulate this month.

Personally i think my lack of ewcm has been part of the problem, don't know why i didn't try these remedies before really, as they definatly appear to be helping.

I've got my next appointment on 12th of june, where hopefully they'l give me some clomid to kick start things and i'm so excited

My cough medicine is called 'jacksons orginal all fours - Guaifenesin' and it was somet like 80p. But there's loads of others just check the ingredients on the back. It should say something like - each 5ml of syrup contains Guaifenesin 50mg as the active ingrediant.Venos chesty cough contains 100mg but its more expensive and as i say tastes vile so you drink less if that makes sense

All makes perfect sense. Sending you lots of baby dust - am sure you will catch soon.

I'm gonna go to superdrug this week and check out their cough medicines - thanks for all the help and advice.
