Explain how I work it out... in laymen's terms please. Oh and Seaside no confusing 'new moon' with 'full moon' today

I think the idea that the moon you were born under influences your fertility later in life. Say you were born at full moon- your ovulations that occur during a full moon are more likely to result in conception than those that happen during other moons. The moon is on a 28 day cycle, many women's cycles are not, so your ovulation day will shift gradually to not being under a full moon (if that was your birth moon). At the moment for example, I ovulate during a waxing moon: bad for me, because I was born virtually at the peak of a full moon. According to that US navy site, I was born an hour after full moon.

I was born 2 days before a full moon, according to those charts, so it's not looking good for me. Next month, '2 days before the full moon' occurs just before my period is due - so not likely to get pregnant at that stage.

Didn't I read that it just boosts your chances, doesn't mean you won't get pregnant during your normal fertile time??

I find this very intriguing actually.

Hi Scorpio - I haven't been on the Easter Eggs thread for ages, it moves too quick for me How are you doing??

Sunshinedays go here and click data services, then phases of the moon then here to see what the moon is doing and when

Thanks READYwithhotbuns
Since I was born 28th May '69 I think this means I was born between first quarter and full moon.
Can I be more accurate than this?

Any of you clued up peeps able to tell me the implications for oving and pg??

Scorpio - I had a couple of days away from MN and I hardly recognised any of the names on the April thread, so I got shy I still peek in, to see if there are any promising symptoms, and of course from next week - some BFPs!! Won't be mine I am afraid, strong feelings that Cycle 8 will arrive on time on Sunday! How are you doing? How's the studying?

sunshinedays - Readywithhotbuns huh? oo-er Seaside was explaining this to me really late last night, and I was hoping she'd be about today to explain it again, hence this email... but I think I am getting to know what it's all about. I looked up your birthdate and you were born 3 days before a full moon, so apparently when you ovulate 3 days before a full moon, it is meant to be doubly fertile! Also, I think they said it was possible to have 2 fertile times, ovulation and then under your moon... but since my moon day (not sure what to call it ) this month falls on 12 DPO of a 12 day Luteal Phase, I can't see how I would be fertile at that point Gawd... I really have waffled, and have probably got it all wrong.

I am trying to work out when 2 days before the new moon is for the next 6 months, and because I don't OV on the same day each month (rude!) I am projecting roughly when I will OV and where the moon is - DH will think I have gone mad!
I blame you.

OK - as I have no pg of my own to work out (sniff ) I have just looked at my bf's data as I know the conception date and her bday and it is pretty spot on for her - she was born under a full moon and conceived 2 days before full moon.

However now I am really gutted about my own cycle as my 2 phases are sooo out of sync

anymore suggestions about how to rejig ov?!!

ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 29/03/2007 14:50

PMSL - I have tears rolling down my face!! I was winding you up about getting full moon and new moon confused... it's very easy to do!! PMSL at "full moooon" "half moon" "total eclipse" -

So we are!! Both 2 days before our Moons I was thinking of an excel spreadsheet too! Is that a tad geeky??

I have just looked back at my cycles last year and our first three really enthusiastic attempts at TTC were perfectly timed for moon and ov - FFS - I should have a baby by now!! - Im going to go of for a cry!!!!!

Report
ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 29/03/2007 14:56

Oh no. Don't cry!! Like I said, maybe there was some other reason for not conceiving at that time - maybe fate had a hand in it! Don't beat yourself up about it!! Just keep trying, sweets!! Look to the coming moons, not those gone by!!!
