Can anyone tell me what is the average cycle length when taking clomid. I started my 5 day course on CD6 so finished taking them CD10. Started BD CD11 (still going). According to internet ov on clomid usually 5-9 days after last tablet (so days 15-19) no pos ov tests altho havent bothered for last few days as getting me down and not sure of accuracy with clomid and pcos. Now CD21 when is it likely that AF would be due? I had blood test yesterday to check levels. Itching to know when I shoudl to pg test too.

Prior to clomid (this is first course) I was highly irreg sometimes 28 days (very rare) and sometimes months and months. Last gap was a year.

Can anyone with experience please please please give some idea.

i conceived twice on clomid, but not sure i can honestly remember any accurate details, sorry. all i can say is i think cycle should be around 28 days as its regulating your body. DONT do ov tests, they are so unreliable and give you false hopes/disappointments. BD every other day and dont stress about it. your doc/consultant should be testing you on days 21 and ...? cant remember the other - to see if you DID ovulate.
dont panic, i have pcos. clomid worked first time with the first and second with the 2nd.

Hi awen. I have just finished my first round of clomid. You need to wait for your day 21 blood test results to find out if you did ovulate. If you have, then maybe do a pg test on day 28

Hi Awen
I had Clomid prescribed by a consultant, with a series of scans and a blood test. I had to stop because I over reacted... but it sounds like you often go through long stretches without ovulating, so your scenario is different to mine.
I take it you are not having any scans or blood tests - if you are, then the clinic doing these should be able to help you anticipate your cycle length.

If clomid has caused you to ovulate (it does't help everyone) then a cycle of around 25-32 days would be a fair, rough guide.

Do you do any other monitoring (temperature or cervical fluids?) as both could help you anticipate what's going on.

Hope this helps.

I took clomid, and it definitely changed day of ovulation. Was normally on a 28 day cycle, and tried to concieve around 14th day on first month with no success.

When I realised it had changed day of ovulation, I conceived straight away. I used an ovulation tester. It is reknowned for doing this.

However I can't remember if it moved it forward or back Sorry! BUT it definitely changed, it is one of side effects

I think it changed it to day 17, in fact I am almost sure it made it later.

Hi awen. Not sure how long you need to wait for blood test results as I am in Oz. My consultant phoned me in the next couple of days with the results, so maybe phone them mon/tues. I was on 50mg and the blood test showed it was likely I had released 2 eggs. By the way I am like you with the random af, not due to pcos but similar.

This first cycle has been successful for me but I am having lots of bleeding, so I am now having lots of blood tests to see if the hormones are rising. I had a scan last week but it was still too early to see anything other than the yolk sac. I should know more on tuesday, so trying to be positive. I still have pg symptoms which is a good sign.

Sorry you are having bleeding Humpydumpy - fingers crossed that everything is all ok. It is great that the clomid has been successful.. 2 eggs? does that mean that you may be carrying twins?

I was warned by my consultant after the 21 day blood test that there was a high risk of twins, but after the scan I had the other day it looks like only one. The bleeding has stopped for the moment so I hope all is good. Have one more blood test in the morning and then I get the results on tuesday.

This baby making business is not easy is it. Just endless waiting and tests. It will be all worth it in the end though.

Good luck.
