Talk to me about low progesterone?

I went to a scan in Friday and was told that I have some thickening to the lining of my uterus which I have no idea what the reason is yet. I went because I'd had a couple of heavy periods since my second child (although I breastfed him for aaaaaages and have just stopped as he turned 2 last month) so I though maybe that was affecting periods somehow. I also suffer from spotting before period and when I was TTC my first baby I diagnosed myself with low progesterone but I was very lucky to get pregnant after 6 months.

Thickening of the uterus can be quite sinister although I'm reassuring myself with the fact that u am only in my 30s so unlikely for me.

I'm currently overweight for the first time in my life and along with the spotting in really hoping that the thicker lining is down to low progesterone and hopefully something that I can rectify by losing weight and with the help of medication.

I feel a bit greedy because I'm actually TTC my third so in a way feel I have no right to be worried about this but I feel worried that this thickening of the lining isn't going to be something that eliminates the possibility of having more (and of course I'm v worried that it might be something REALLY horrible but I'm just going to put that out of my mind for now...)

If you have been diagnosed with low progesterone what were your symptoms? Have you been able to raise your levels of progesterone and do you know if the lining of your uterus was affected by this? Thanks in advance!
