Help me interpret my 3 day bloods please. I'm going quietly insane here!

I might even go loudly insane shortly, so any help would be much appreciated.

I had a delightful phonecall from my doctor at Guys and St Thomas yesterday informing me that my blood tests I had performed the previous week indicate I have diminished ovarian reserve. I was tested for AMH, so I'm not disputing that she is probably right :(

However I did have 3 day bloods done at my GP's last month that Guys didn't have when I went for my consultation. I did get them and I was supposed to read them out to doctor during the above mentioned conversation. Unfortunately my utter shock made me forget and she didn't ask. I've been told to attend for bloods at Guys on first day of next period, so in hindsight I'm assuming these are same bloods I had done at GP's.

Anyway, the main results are as follows (drumroll)

FSH 9.5
LH 18.3
Oestradiol 576 pmo/L

I've been told she will ring me to discuss if any treatment is available (comforting words) when this next set of bloods are back. Are these bloods from last month terrible? Please be honest, but do it nicely. I was also informed in phone call that my DP has reduced sperm motility. What a memorable and fun day yesterday was! :(

Flowers first of all. Do you have pcos? If your LH is more than double your FSH its likely you do. X

That was my first thought FluffyEwok. I'm not diagnosed with it. I've had a scan and they couldn't see anything except a couple of tiny cysts in my right ovary. I've got none of the physical symptoms of it either. My cycles have been really irregular since I came off the pill in April though.

Pcos and reduced ovarian reserve. What a heady combination for never becoming a mother.

Thank you for the flowers. You're very kind.

What was your AMH? I'm pcos and my fsh is 7.4, lh is 16 and AMH is 131. I may be wrong but I think in pcos egg reserve is usually good. I'm not typical either. I'm slim, only slightly hairy and not spotty. X

I don't know what my AMH was. I was so upset I didn't think to ask. I'm still in shock to be honest. I'm really not impressed with my doctor to be honest. She couldn't wait to get off the phone and now I'm totally in limbo. I just don't know what to think 😢

That's understandable mummy. I feel like my doctor can't wait to get us out the room!

It's not just me then? It's disgusting when they are dealing with such an emotional subject. Perhaps we have the same doctor?😊

Your fsh is on the high side of fine ( below 10 is best) however this will be artificially suppressed by a very high oestrogen number. Usually this has to be below 200 to give an accurate reading. The amh is key! Best of luck I fell pregnant with this diagnosis and an amh of less than 1 (very bad!) so it can and does happen all the time you only need one good egg. .how is the sperm?

Enjoy your break FluffyEwok. Hopefully you won't need the clomid much longer.

Sperm count is fine farfallarocks. Morphology is also OK, it's just the motility that isn't so good. I'm beyond gobsmacked tbh. My DP is only in his mid twenties. I was hoping his youth would make up for my ancient 37 years!

Is the oestrogen really high? I've been googling, but keep getting different answers. It might explain my constantly sore boobs! They never stop hurting despite taking loads of epo.

Clearly age doesn't matter for the men folk. Lucky them!

I am sick of my boobs hurting. It's constant. They itch loads as well right now. Fun times.

I'm confused why all the blood results say normal on the sheet? Surely they aren't if I have elevated oestrogen and LH Levels?

I think with these things there are normal
Ranges but then optimal ranges. So the blood test will have an fsh tame but that's also the range that tells
Doctors if you are in the menopause so normal
Is probably up to 50 but for conceptions it's much lower. It's terrible
No one has explained this to you properly!!

My doctor at guys hasn't even seen my 3 day blood tests farfallrocks. My GP hadn't sent them when I went to Guys for my consultation. I've got a print out of them at home. I was supposed to read them out to her during the phonecall from hell, but I forgot to and she didn't ask!

I'm going to call her again tomorrow and give her them. I can't see the point of doing 3 day bloods again like she's asked. It's just heaping on more agonising waiting time.

I don't feel like anything has been explained to me properly :( Her ominous words of "We will see if any treatment is appropriate after bloods come back" has struck the fear of God into me. What if they tell me they won't treat me? We'll have to go private and we are about as far away from well off as possible. I can't sleep properly for worrying. I'm a mess!
