36 and TTC #1 low egg reserve

Hi,
I'm 36 and ttc #1. OH and I had tests and I have low egg reserve of 8.6 which is quite low (should be between 5.5-37.4 for my age range of 35-39 years of age) which now worries me after 10 months ttc. Using ov tracking now, and regular but no success yet. Also started folic acid, OH on zinc. Worried if I'll ever get pregnant and go for IVF. OH has good sperm count but motility issues, so is giving up smoking with champix now. Anyone been in this position? Any advice or success stories please?

thanks!

Hi Bonny - was it your AMH level you had tested? I had extremely low AMH (0.2) and we ended up going for IVF for our second dc. I had other problems too so it wasn't just for that reason. I ended up conceiving out of the blue just over a year after dd was born, so it is possible to have a natural conception with such a low egg reserve (and mine was about the lowest I could find having trawled the Internet!). Unfortunately we ended up losing the baby but again that was for other reasons.
I took co-enzyme q10, high levels of folic acid (5mg a day if I remember correctly), DHEA for a couple of months (low dose as I was worried), drank loads of water & generally tried to be as healthy as I could be. Who knows if it helped or not!
Good luck and I hope you get a bfp soon. If you want any more info feel free to pm me 😊

Thanks so much for your response!! Really appreciate it. Great to hear your success story.
I think I'm going to try the Q10 co-enzyme now too, thanks. I'll look into the DHEA too perhaps and increase my intake of folic acid.

My amh is 8.6 so that doesn't sound too bad after all. Can I ask your age when you conceived too?

Thanks a lot Smile xx

Hi Bonny, I was 37 when I fell pregnant with dd, and 39 when we fell pregnant naturally.
I think with your AMH level there is lots to be hopeful about 😊 Good luck!
