hi girls,
right i need some mummies advise. last month i was pregnant. yaaay. i was so early that i was about 2 weeks but after going to the doctors to get it confirmed they said was more like 6 weeks because they got off the date of your last menstrual cycle dont they. anyway i started bleeding. starte dlight and then throughout the day it got heavier and heavier. was advised to go to hospital and get checked over. i got there and was told they couldnt tell if i was miscarrying or whether it was a chemical pregnancy because it was so early to tell. they couldn't scan as there would be nothing to show yet. the only way to tell was to test when i was stopped bleeding. so i did and i couldn't see a line so i just thought it was a miscarriage/chemical pregnancy.

so now - i am suppose it be due on sunday and i usually get cramps etc before hand. i started having light pink blood, so faint early hours on thursday. i thought nothing of it so thought my period was coming so i just put a pad on to be safe. thursday nothing on pad, slight pink every now and again when i went to the toilet. friday i had brownish blood and wasn't alot at all i didnt change my pad all day as i didnt need to. saturday nothing again the odd spot on the towel. but pink this time. saturday afternoon back to nothing and again this morning nothing. i am never ever usually early. so now im just wondering whether 'did i actually miscarry?' rechecked the test i did and in some lights i can see a very faint line but its so faint its hardly noticeable. it was less noticable that the first test i did so thats why i thought i had miscarried.

just wondering if anyone else has had something similar? NHS and bounty websites don't really give you much to go off. dont wanna buy tests to be disappointed. as i have come to terms with the fact i had a very early miscarriage.

thankyou :)

I'm so sorry you've gone through this. I've gad 4 chemicals and 2 MC's and it's shit Flowers

Could you possibly do another test? That would be more conclusive than a test read days after it was taken

thankyou for messaging sweet.
omg i feel so sorry for you honey.
that must be terrible. hope all is well!
firstly... am i being daft? cos i can see a faint line now but before i didnt. but then i dunno if i was just expecting it to be completely clear i dont know. this is it in black and white and i feel you can see the like clearer. i was thinking about doing another one just because of the way the bleeding is this month 3 weeks after my miscarriage. im thinking i might be reading into it too much. but im also thinking am i sittin here pregnant thinking im not cos if thats the case then i need to get things sorted with a midwife.

was it a miscarriage?

I think your previous pregnancy wasnt successful or your line would be much stronger. But you may have conceived after the CP?

my last pregnancy was either a miscarriage or it wasnt because sins my miscarriage the only time i would of conceived was on the 10th which was 8 days after ovulation and 5 days before the due date of period. so i highly doubt it... and the spotting started thursday which was 3 days before my period due date. so it is confusing

So when exactly was the last time you tested?;) I think you need to do a new one.

the last test i did was on the 23rd September because which is the one pictured. and i didnt see a line come up straight away so i just presumed id miscarried. but the. my period hasnt been normal and ive has this pink/brown on off bleeding 3 days earlier than i was expecting a 'period' to show. so it made me think 'hmm did i actually miscarry?' and made me recheck my test and now ive sin a faint line so unsure.

It wasn't a great thing to go through, it was 6 years off my life I now never think about. Thankfully, 6 months after being told I had unexplained infertility I fell pg again and carried my son to term, followed by my daughter 23 months later. They're 10 and 8 now :D

Rechecking a test won't help, they tell you not to read a test after the time they give simply because things like this happen. Once the test dries out you can get evaporation lines which can look like positive results. Nor is trying to track your cycle immediately after a loss. If it was a mc or cp, you wait until AF arrives again and count from there as it throws your hormones out of balance for a little while.

Have you any other symptoms? Tiredness, increased urination, aversion to odd smells, nausea?

If you don't mind me asking (and you don't have to say) how long did the bleeding last and was it heavy?

oh god no way. how awful! and oh wow thats lovely! so there was a silver lining for you which is lovely.

and very true. i wish i hadnt of checked in all honesty because now its made me unsure. but obviously when the bleeding started this month 3 days early and hasnt been at all heavy or even like a light flow its just been spots here and there, on and off. and then that brown colour yesterday was weird for me aswell so.

erm during my last pregnancy when i was having miscarriage? the bleeding lasted 4 days and got heavy and bright then dark.

Dark loss is nothing to worry about, it's just old blood.

TBH, I would consider doing another test and if that is BFN, wait for AF for maybe another 2 weeks. Any more than that I'd pop to the Dr to be checked over.

Right well you haven't done a test in over 3 weeks then, the only way to know is to take another test.

Sorry I can't see any colour in the test you have put the picture up in your op. I would say it was just an indentation line. As it is outside of the time for the test it could also lead to an evaporation line, so must be counted as negative.

I take it that a month ago you got a strong positive test, and now you have a negative (or at most a faint positive) test. That does strongly suggest you miscarried. And given that you could only have conceived this month on the 10th or after, then it is too soon for you to be getting a positive test from a new pregnancy.

It does look like you have a negative test right now, which should mean that you have fully miscarried.

It is important to be aware that after a miscarriage your period is highly unlikely to arrive when you expect it to arrive. Also you will possibly get unusual symptoms as the hormones settle back down. It can take up to 7 weeks even with an early miscarriage for the normal cycle to get back to place. Also just being pregnant can alter your cycle. For me even early miscarriages changed my cycle length. (I have had many first trimester miscarriages)

I hope that you get pregnant again soon.

thanks girlies.
ive been quiet because im not longer worrying about it, cos sunday night when my period should have been due i started getting heavier bleeding. which therefore indicates to me it was a miscarriage :) but on a nicer note i have become a first time auntie this morning haha.

thanks girls, gonna let my body settle back down and then try again.

:)
