Could I really be pregnant this quickly after coming off the pill?

Hello everyone, hope it's ok to post here as I'm a newbie and don't really know my way around the site properly yet! Blush

I am currently TTC and stopped taking my pill (dianette) earlier this month. I was of the view that, until I have had a regular period following stopping my pill that I am unlikely to be able to get pregnant as everything would still be out of synch. My withdrawal bleed started on 5th September and lasted a few days. I then had sex on 17th and noticed a jelly/clear like discharge (sorry if TMI!) the following day. On the 19th I then had a tiny amount pink/brownish discharge, which I initially thought was my AF coming but have had no other signs of bleeding since. Could it really be possible that I am pregnant or are these likely to be other symptoms of stopping the pill?

Any help would be much appreciated Grin

I was on Dianette and got pregnant without having a period first. Can't remember the exact dates but was within a week or two of coming off it. Was quite a shock! DD is now 6. Good luck. Smile

Could be either to be honest. I got pregnant the same month I stopped the pill, I never bled at all. My daughter is 9 now.

However, I have stopped the pill a few times for various reasons since and it has knocked my usual cycle out by a week or so. Fingers crossed for you

You could be pregnant, but the pill played havoc with my periods. I didn't have a period for a year after stopping the pill.

You had sex 3 days ago so it's really way too early for any kind of pregnancy symptoms. Even if the egg fertilised it won't implant for a few more days. You need to wait another 10 days or so then test.

Thank you for your replies Grin I'm trying not to get excited too quickly! Now the agonising wait until I can take a test!

I agree with oyster! You aren't pregnant... Yet! 😄 The jelly you describe is egg white cervical mucas or Ewcm for short. This is the fertile mucas you get around ovulation so a good sign. The light spotting was probably a result of first ovulation since the pill (I also had this). So you can assume that you are now in the two week wait and can test 14 days after you ovulated which was approx 18/19th

Good luck! And maybe have a quick research about concieving and the different phases during a cycle so you're clued up for next month if no bfp xxx
