My consultant has given me another 4 months of clomid at 150mg. I only ov on this dose. Last month my prog was so high he said i could have released two eggs but my period started this morning. Im thinking is something else going on? Surely two eggs means double the chance yet my period is hereConfused

I ovulated last cycle on 150mg clomid. My progesterone score was 76. My period came bang on day 28. It only really puts you back in the "normal person conceiving" bracket at about 20-25% chance each month.

You're not Hun, it's really tough. I've just taken my 6th cycle and have 7th and 8th in the wings. I haven't done 6 cycles straight mind due to various things.

Theres different schools of thought on whether to break isnt there? One school says to have a break to counteract the anti osteogen effect and others say it builds up so stay on it xx

All I know is that it took 4 months of metformin in my system to make clomid do anything. I have pcos and it seems, insulin resistant.

Have you taken each clomid cycle in a row? Or taken breaks? Xxx

Ive taken it in a row im starting month 4. I dont struggle with weight but im wondering if im insulin resistant? I had a private opinion and they will give me metformin alongside clomid but NHS not keen

I think you're prolly ok to continue for another few cycles. Metformin made the difference for me, would give it a whirl and see what happens. Are you having follicle scanning along side your clomid and bloods? Xxx

Report
Sparklyslippers · 14/09/2016 20:56

No I'm just having bloods but the consultant told me not to bother as it's making me ovulate! What about you?

Scans and bloods. Last cycle on 150mg I had 3 juicy follies so was told to abandon the cycle due to the risk of multiples (we ignored them as the risk is low) and this cycle I've got two juicy follies so we're good to go. I'm ovulating around about now ish so I guess I'll know in a couple of weeks! Xxx

Ooh good luck boggle! My progesterone was over 100 so the consultant said it's likely I dropped 2 eggs at least. We don't mind twins it would be a bonus!

It so tricky cos even if you drop 2 or 3 eggs, the likelihood of 2 or 3 or even 1 implanting and actually working is so low. Makes me sad as so many people get knocked up so easily or by accident and here we are 2 years along the line and nothing.

It also frustrated me that people keep saying I'm young, I have time. Doesn't make this journey any easier. I wanted to be a mum 2 years ago xxx

Then I have no doubt you have no need to worry for your DH.

Just me, always had pcos but diagnosed in 2011. Been trying since July 2014. 6 rounds of clomid later... Here I am! DH has good sperm too.

I has no idea I had pcos as I'm not typical. I'm a size 8 to 10 with no acne! I worry DH will be too old by the time we get this sorted!

No, I've not. I was put on a waiting list for a lap and dye and ovarian drilling but I declined it due to the risks.
Plus, I've only ovulated on one cycle of clomid and metformin so far, I suspect if I'm not successful after the next 3, they'll suggest a hycosy. Xx

The NHS wont check my tubes but im considering paying privately its 550 quid. It may just be piece of mind but lots of people say theyve gotten pregnant soon after x
