Is acupuncture worth a go?

Hello, appreciate any advice on this...

I have 4yr old son, easily conceived first attempt.
Been trying for second for year and half now, 2 miscarriages, 1 in Dec at 10 weeks, 1 in May at 5 weeks.
Has anyone tried acupuncture? Is it worth trying to help conception?
Have heard varying opinions for during pregnancy - can possibly help prevent miscarriage during first 12 weeks/could cause muscle spasms that could lead to miscarriage.

Would love to hear your thoughts if you've considered this

Thanks Smile

A friend of mine had multiple miscarriages before trying acupuncture. I can't remember how long this took or if she had any further miscarriages after treatment but gave birth to a healthy little boy who is now 3.
My DH and I have just started to ttc so I'm very new to all of this but by the sound of her experience I would certainly give it a try if it came to that. Don't think there's any harm in trying. Good luck!

Hey meow. Sorry to hear you're having such a lengthy time ttc.

I'm on cycle & now with no joy. I do acupuncture as part of my job but we don't use it on pregnant women or for those ttc. However acupuncture can work on so many levels, and in ways I don't even fully understand.

A good friend of mine tried iui a few times with no success and then was gearing up for IVF. She had acupuncture and told me that it really relaxed her and made her feel really positive. Thank goodness she conceived twins with her first round.

The one thing I would say with acupuncture; if you're a non- believer in things like that then it's probably not for you. If you're open to it then I'd say there's nothing to lose. Good luck X

I used it when ttc ds1 it certainly helped relaxed me as it was so stressful ttc. I think it helped regulate my cycles a bit too.
I wasn't wholey believing it till I gave it a try.
I think to be honest the clomid was what helped us conceive but the acupuncture helped me stay calm and relaxed so j would say go for it
I looked around for someone who was recommended and specialised in fertility

Thanks guys, glad to see some positive results! Have booked my first appointment and will see how it goes... I definitely need to relax and destress so fingers crossed it'll help at least in that way!

I think it's a very personal choice. I conceived DC1 straight away first month off the pill. We found trying for DC2 much more difficult! After 6 months I turned to acupuncture and fell pregnant straight away. I agree with the pp that it really helped relax me and in turn helped me fall pregnant. It's not a miracle cure for everyone and I feel very lucky to be pregnant now.
Good luck OP!
