Does this test look positive to you, it is the line not quite strong enough?

GoldFishFingerz Sun 04-Sep-16 06:42:54

I would take that as a yes you could possibly be ovulating. I had positives with no official ovulation though as the eggs I tried to produced were immature.

Bugger! DH is away until tomorrow.

I was away at ovulation time last month.

Will tomorrow night be too late?

GoldFishFingerz Sun 04-Sep-16 18:55:33

Possibly not. Go for it!

BasinHaircut Sun 04-Sep-16 22:36:44

Will definately go for it, dr Google tells me I will ovulate 12-36 hours after a positive test so might be lucky.

I'll test again in the morning too because I don't think the test line was quite as dark as the control line (though that might just be me being hopeful). Fingers crossed for this month

Ov stick is negative again today so I guess that means I've already ovulated??

We DTD Thursday and Friday and I got the positive Sunday morning.

I read yesterday that you shouldn't use morning wee to test as you produce the hormone in the morning so it wouldn't show up in wee yet. Which means that if I got it in morning wee then it was present on Saturday??? But then I wouldn't have ovulated for 12-36 hours? So I most likely ovulated yesterday?

I wouldn't get hung up on timings. Your fertile window starts 5 days or so before ovulation and ends the day after ovulation. The closer to ovulation you DTD the higher the chance of pregnancy. the reason for the long fertile wondow is because sperm keep surviving day after day.

GoldFishFingerz Mon 05-Sep-16 08:19:01

When I was seeing a fertility specialist he said try alternative days throughout fertile window ideally.

How long have you been trying?

GoldFishFingerz Mon 05-Sep-16 08:20:27

I recon your ovulating today possibly though.

GoldFishFingerz Mon 05-Sep-16 08:22:18

Could be late yesterday or any time today?

GoldFishFingerz Mon 05-Sep-16 08:23:26

Keep shagging if you can

BasinHaircut Mon 05-Sep-16 08:54:27

Ideally we would have done every other day but DH has been away 2 nights. Will still DTD tonight and tomorrow tooand just see what happens.

We've only been consciously trying for 3 months but using no contraception since March. It's not a big deal if it doesn't happen this month, I just don't understand it all very well just yet. I always intended to just let nature take its course and not worry about ovulation but I'm a control freak so I can't just wait!

GoldFishFingerz Mon 05-Sep-16 22:49:52

expect it to take 12 months. That way a much quicker pregnancy is a bonus and a later pregnancy isn't going to be a painful wait. Im totally impatient too and found the cycles trying!

Hi Basin. What CD do you start testing for ovulation? I've got the same ones as yours. This will be my first cycle testing and I'm totally clueless! Also a control freak!!

BasinHaircut Tue 06-Sep-16 20:29:29

What does CD mean?? I'm a total newbie myself.

My cycle is around 28-31 days and for the past 2 months I've got a positive looking test on day 19 (1st month) and 18 (second month). I started testing in day 10 of my cycle both months, but based on my first 2 months of testing I'll probably start around day 14 next month.

Unless we are lucky this month!

orlstar Tue 06-Sep-16 21:24:41

CD is just cycle day, that's really helpful, thank you. I'll hold off testing ovulation for a few days. I'm on day 11. My cycle was really weird last month and went to day 37 - longest I've ever had on my first month ttc, so I thought it would be worth checking my ovulation patterns. I'm using the Ovia app too. Fingers crossed for this month!!

BasinHaircut Wed 07-Sep-16 06:37:14

Good luck!

Do you have any idea when you ovulate? I read to start testing On day 10, although that was for a regular 28 day cycle.

orlstar Wed 07-Sep-16 07:38:25

No idea, I've been told that 14 days before AF is when you would have ovulated in the previous cycle. Ovia reckons it was CD25 on my last report, but Ovia has reset to a 28 dayer this month?

BasinHaircut Wed 07-Sep-16 08:38:22

Ovia looked to confusing for me! If you are sure about your cycle length then I'd go for day 14 to start testing, but if it varies then probably earlier to be sure you don't miss it!

But I'm no expert!
