Seven seas affecting cycle length?

Just wondered if anyone else has found that taking the seven seas trying for a baby multivitamin is resulting in longer cycles? I have been TTC since May and been taking these since then. 1st cycle was 42 days, 2nd cycle I'm on day 45 and still no sign of AF (def not pregnant). I just wondered if taking this multi vitamin could be the cause and if anyone else has experienced this?

Yes! Happened to me twice and people are a little loathed to believe me I've found. But if you google b6 causing delayed ovulation then there are a lot of stories so that's what I think it is.

I took them the month I conceived DS a few years ago and was ok. But tried on two totally separate months this time and ovulation was delayed by a week. One month I even bled for over a week mid cycle. I am utterly convinced it's them. I even had tests at the doctors for the bleeding and everything came back clear.

I'm now just taking folic acid and vitamin d!

On the plus side, as soon as I stopped taking them my cycles went back to normal length!

Thanks for that Mmm makes me think similar could be happening with me then. I am stopping taking fr today and just going to take folic acid instead and see what happens!

Seven seas are ok for me but pregnacare really messed with my cycle. Made my cycles longer and mimicked pregnancy symptoms. Recent reports suggest you don't need all the fancy vitamins just folic acid which you can get on its own,if you have a healthy diet so might be worth looking into.x

Thanks welshy I'm gonna buy some folic acid today and just take that from now on and see what happens. It will be interesting to see if AF makes a appearance now I've stopped taking it!

Yeah it's very strange. Seven seas actually has less vitamins in than some of the others like pregnacare too!

The NHS recommends vitamin d for pregnant women too so I've started that now as well.

Hopefully you have ovulated but it was just delayed. On a normal cycle I have lots of fertile signs but on my delayed cycles I didn't and AF arriving was just a 'wait and see' game. Very annoying and not what you need at all when TTC!!!

As soon as we started properly ttc i atarted on Asda own brand pregnancy vits. My cycle has gone from predictable 28 days to way longer, and delayed ovulation is the cause. I have stopped taking them now so will see how long this cycle lasts.

I've started taking seven seas now, with the intent that we'll start TTC in the new year as I felt I needed to be preparing somehow.

Having actually looked at them properly though, they only have the normal recommended amount of vitamin d which apparently isn't enough for pregnancy. Pregnacare has about three times as much.

They don't seem to be doing any harm so I'll finish the three packs I bought on offer in boots, but I don't think I'll be buying any more.

Hi all I had problems with v short cycles sometimes only 21 days which was making it difficult to concieve. There were one or two other things I tried but I think they helped lengthen my cycle which for me was needed and after 3 months I got s bfp. I am now 26weeks. They worked better for me than randomally popping folic acid and vit d. Boods do a combined folic acid and vitd d which might be better for you op.

@Crustyoddsocks Hey, I know this post is very old but I'm just doing some reading on here and trying to find some help in lengthening my cycle/Luteal phase. What was it that you tried? Thank you x

@Confused678866. No probs Im still on MN. I took 7 seas trying for a baby and for me with my short cycles I think it might have helped. It took me ages to conceive my DS (now 4) and I managed to get pregnant 2 years later and now have DD. I used seven seas from day one and got pregnant fast.
It could be coincidence but worth a try and defo no harm.

@Crustyoddsocks Thank you for replying! Ahh that's amazing news, I think I'll give them a try. I was concerned as I'd read a few posts from people saying that it made their ovulation delayed etc but I'd also heard some positive stories. Thank you. X
