Fat & forty - any hope for #3???

I am consumed by thoughts of a 3rd baby. But i feel that time is running out. I'm 40 and several stone over weight. I'm angry that i've put myself in this position. If i wait to lose weight before ttc then i'll be 41+. Anyone else in, or been in, this position? No idea whether to let the idea go (and possibly regret the decision in the future), or ttc despite my weight, or throw myself into a weight loss (starvation) plan for 6 months then ttc. Help!

I fell with DC3 when I was 39 years and 10 months band was about 2.5 stone overweight, it happened really fast and only semi-planned so it's definitely possible, I know I was lucky though...

Gave birth a week before my 40th and was 3 stone overweight when I conceived (not 1st child). Had put off conceiving for several years due to wanting to lose weight...but never got round to dieting. Felt it was now or never, getting on a bit etc. Bit the bullet. Got pg quite quickly. Was really careful with eating once pg and ate healthily (low sugar) and was the same weight the day after I gave birth as the day I got pregnant. Healthy baby.

I would say on balance, if there are no other factors, just go for it now. Had I left it later who knows how things would have gone - no regrets here.

Thanks - that gives me hope! I get terrible morning sickness which is only appeased by eating lots so i think i'm most worried about putting on even more weight...

Aged 42 and overweight conceived ds2 - still overweight and that was nearly 5 years ago!! Good luck x

Thanks! Joined Slimming World this week so will see if that helps over the next few months and then get cracking if so! X
