Hi, I haven't been on this thread before, hope it's ok if I join? DD is 2 in a few weeks and still a voracious breastfeeder. We've been casually TTCing for about 16 months, so I'm on cycle 17 or 18, I forget. It took me 2 years to get pregnant with DD and I was diagnosed with PCOS whilst trying. So the odds aren't fabulous in my favour! Just ordered some OPKs and some preseed, going to ramp it up a notch this month, as I'm now the only person from my NCT group who won't have a DC2 by the end of this year.

Hi ladies , can I please join? Dd is 8 month and still bf full time. Ttc casually, as in I'm not on contraception but period hasn't returned. Weaning tips much appreciated !

That's interesting expat as my dh often ends up sharing a bed with dd and me with ds. He has been taking much at night it is just pure comfort so I wonder if we were to swap and I went with dd would it work?? Bloods went fine, only that she nearly killed my arm again. She had the needle in and she couldn't draw blood from it. Torture, she tried the other arm then instead. Not back with the gynae for 2 months so I won't know any results until then. Welcome gardencentre, my friend has pcos and conceived no problem on 3, and 4 as soon as she weaned. So hopefully you get luck soon.

Thanks for setting up the new thread expat, great to have our very own😊Isn't it crazy how obsessed we get, that all you want to do is test. At least when we test we feel like we are getting one step closer!!

Thanks for the new thread Expat. Remembering to do the temperature is hard until you get into the habit. It is so nice to be all together in one bed like that. DH didn't like it at first as he was scared of knocking DS in his sleep but didn't mind him being in a co sleeper on my side. It was only when his silent reflux got so bad that he would only sleep sitting upright in us or lying down whilst feeding that we agreed to him being in our bed routinely so he could feed and sleep well until his medicine sorted it out. When he moved to his own room at six months though, I think DH missed him more than I did, so we let him come back in if he wakes less than a couple of hours before we get up. I miss him too but I don't miss being dehydrated and dizzy in the morning!

Welcome Coolchic (Do I remember you from the Oct 2015 due date threads? I was in that until it moved over to Facebook) and Garden. Good luck to both of you!

The blood test sounds awful JP. Do you have tricky veins or was the person doing it not very good? Hope that you have

Thanks Cineraria, yes I was! It's amazing how the time has flown that we are talking about ttc again☺️.

PsCineraria I hope your DS silent reflux has improved, my DD also had bad reflux and on rhinitis one until she was 5 months when she got better.

Apologies to the other ladies for derailing!

Thanks for the shiny new thread expat!

Cine Sounds really positive re. ovulation - congratulations! My thermometer arrived today so excited to start temping tomorrow. I hope I get a nice clear temp shift like you this month to prove I'm actually oving.

lullaby CD16 with a 27-28 day cycle would still give you an 11-12 day LP, and it should be 10+ to conceive. 14 is the dream though! Are you trying Angus then? (love it! Wink) He arrived today too so will start taking that tomorrow. I've been on B-50 complex for a couple of days now and all seems to have been fine - DD not fussing any more than usual or anything. It gives you bright yellow pee though Blush

jp 2 months seems like a very long time to have to wait for the results; you must be far more patient than me. Sorry it was such a trauma for you. The things we do in the name of TTC!

And hello and welcome to Cool and Garden

Ah the blood test prob sounds worse than what it was. She said she was in the vein just no blood would come out so I don't know. I had the blood test done with the nurse in my gp's but the results are going to my gynae and I am not due to see him until the beginning of August so I am assuming I won't get results until then. I suppose I prob could ring his receptionist. I have to have day 21 done again next month obviously if something happens this month I won't!

The bright yellow pee is nothing to work about Jooni, it's a water soluble vitamin so that's just your body getting rid of what it doesn't need.

Cine co sleeping is just so much easier although when four of us end up in the bed (super king) it's a disaster!! But whatever works for some sleep is my motto. Hence why he hasn't weaned at night as I just don't have the energy to battle, as I am often woke by dd too. She uses my hair as her comfort object while sucking her thumb so I get it from all angles.

She weaned really well started at 12 months gradually just swapped over she was really chilled about it so that was nice.
Hi garden & cool nice to have u aboard !
Jpclarke sorry the blood test was traumatic fingers crossed u don't need next months !
We do a similar thing with our lo ciner let her come in if past 4am until the alarm goes off. With the exception of teething when she wont settle unless she can hold my hand so co sleeps through this phase.
Well all the physical signs show I am ovulating I'm currently day 15 I never no if that's good or bad, I did try the ovulation sticks but only a faint line don't no if I've missed it or to try again tomorrow or maybe it's just not happening !

Thanks everyone for all your kind messages, I am not sure how many days post ovulation I am or when my af is due as I didn't do any opk's this month. The only insight into ovulation that I have is from the scan and the gynae suspecting that I was due to ovulate. If I go by the gynae I am due af in 4 days whereas my app says I am not due for another 8 days. Although I bought some first response as they were buy one get one free in boots I still don't want to waste any tests. So I think I will just wait and see how the week goes. Or should I just test early this week coming?

I am half afraid to test and yet another part of me is curious. I suppose I will just have to wait and see what this week brings.

How is everyone's weekend going? I took this kids for new shoes today. I went yesterday too but I wasn't happy with the selection in the shop so I went again today. The lady yesterday measured ds as 1.5 sizes bigger than what he is currently wearing, boy did I feel like a bad mom. But then when we went to a different shop today he was measured at only .5 size bigger which would be normal growth. I was so glad I stuck to my guns yesterday and didn't buy any shoes.

Good luck jpclarke, I agree that 5 days seems like a reasonable time to test.

How old are all your DCs? My mum had a bit of a go at me tonight for still BF'ing DD (almost 2 years).

jpclarke · 18/06/2016 23:01

My dd is nearly 2.8 years and my ds is nearly 19 months. He is the one I am still feeding and I can't see him stopping anytime soon. It's so hard when you have loved ones giving out about your personal choice. The who recommends up to age 2 if it's any consolation. Plus the last people we need to be giving out to us is our loved ones. My dh has been giving me a bit of a hard time the odd time lately too. If I had a choice now it would be to have him weaned although part of me would be very sad. But I would love a full night sleep and a night out not even to drink even just to the cinema or a restaurant. Getting guff is not going to change our situations and ultimately we are doing our best for our dc, so try not to take it to heart. I also think that in the bigger picture it's such a short time in their little lives.

I tried Angus last month, to be honest I think it messed up my cycle. So I hope it doesn't have that effect on you lullaby, but maybe I shouldn't of been taking it in the first place as I have had regular periods for 9 months and it could also have been the chemical. I decided not take it this month. I used the tincture rather than the capsules, I found it very hard to drink.

Report
lullaby23 · 20/06/2016 08:32

Yes I've heard it can have the opposite effect so could go either way! Will see if it makes matters worse soon enough. You're very brave to try a tincture sounds horrible! I remember my mum trying to make me take liquid echinacea as a child boke!

Experimented with giving DS a snack and some cows milk in a cup after his nap rather than BF. He mostly played with the cup and spilt the milk all over the highchair but perhaps a tiny bit went in. He has water from the munchkin 360 cup as he is very messy but thought I would give him milk in a different cup (tommee Tippee flip top) which is easy to pour out of, maybe a bad idea!

only 3 days to test time jp!

lullaby hope the angus helps

Have just got a new bed for DS and he's really excited about sleeping in it - even if its just for the start of the night that should give DH and I some good time to DTD this week without fear of interruption (2 years of co-sleeping hasn't exactly helped our sex life!!)

started OPKs yesterday hoping I'll be able to find out if I'm actually O'ing this month..

Hello All - room for a newbie?

I'm still breastfeeding my 16 month old lb and hoping to conceive no. 2 asap (I'm getting on a bit!) - have started back on my advanced fertility monitor plus will also start with ov sticks in the afternoons today and I'm temping - the latter a bit difficult as wake time in mornings erratic to say the least.

My periods came back in January but I'm unsure if ovulating as only just started back with the above. I hope so though after 6 months!

For some bizarre reason though lb has turned into a boob monster the past few weeks and is wanting to snack all the time so I don't know if that will affect anything.

CD10 today so should - all being well ov in next few days - we shall see!

Good luck to all:)

Report
jpclarke · 20/06/2016 20:31

Welcome Cat, my lb went through something similar with the boob lately but he is after cutting through a canine and another one on the way so I am putting it down to that. He has eased off again and forgotten all about "in there" as he says until bed time. So hopefully your lb eases off again too.
