New poster here!

To keep a long ramble short- me and DH have been ttc for maybe 2/3 months. Tried to be quite relaxed and just see what happens. Had visit from AF last month as predicted then as was going on holiday in next few weeks decided to use protection when dtd so could enjoy hols without worrying about not drinking etc.

Having returned from hols, there is now no sign of AF this month! Not sure whether I am just irregular due to long time on pill or need to test. Could last month not have been a real period? Am now worried as if so means I have been drinking for around a month whilst possibly pregnant.
Any reassurance that I haven't messed up this pregnancy already would be greatly appreciated. X

There is no link between mother and baby for a few weeks until placenta and umbilical cord develop. Also, just think about how our grandparents drank like fish while pregnant. Take a test - not worth getting worried until you know either way!

Yea it takes a while before the baby gets anything from you. The only way to be sure is to do a test, good luck Grin

I would be inclined to think that your cycle hasn't quite got back to normal yet after being on the pill, how late are you?

Please don't worry about having been drinking if you are in the early stages of pregnancy, honestly it is OK, so many of us have done it. Definitely do a test if AF is late, good luck :-)

Thanks for the replies. So I plucked up the courage and did a test. Negative! Will retest again in a few days if no sign of AF. It probably is just my body adjusting - just confusing as I seem to have been regular since stopping pill 5 months ago. Fingers crossed I'll get there soon, and will try to relax about the drinking! Laura am 5 days late today and have had cycles of around 23/24 days since I stopped taking the pill in January. Wait and see I suppose

Traveling and drinking, stress etc could have delayed ovulation, which would delay your period.

My cycles have also messed up recently for no reason, had them as normal up until Feb then nothing all of March and April, came on at beginning of May and then 2days late this time but came on today. It's so frustrating if this is the case especially when ttc as it gets your hopes up! Fingers crossed you get the result you want and please keep us all updated 😊
