Negative test but no period?

So confused!
I came off pill a year ago and periods quickly regulated.
Periods in the past few months have been:

Feb 16-20
4 week gap.
March 15 - 19
3 week and 5 days gap.
April 10 - 14.
3 week and 2 days gap.
May 3 - 11.
No period since.

May's period was a long one; 9 days instead of the usual 4 or 5. My longest gap between periods is 4 weeks exactly, more often slightly less.

Ovia told me to test on Sunday. I have been testing since and worked out it might be telling me too early - if this month is a 4 week gap, yesterday would be the due date.

Still no period, and test is negative.

No real symptoms but slight occasional nausea. Also fatigue, and slightly reduced appetite yesterday. On the Friday before Ovia told me to take the test, I got some twinges and thought it meant period was on the way, but nothing.

I'm getting anxious now. At what stage will the GP take any notice? Should I keep peeing on sticks?!!

It still could be your periods settling. A variety of things can make ovulation late; change in schedule, stress.... Relax. Easier said than done, but stressing about periods not coming can make them come.

GPs wouldn't take notice probably until you'd missed a second period.... or thereabouts.

Do you know when you ovulated and if it was late? Keeping track in the future might help ease your worry.

No idea when I ovulated, haven't tested for that. Although I have tests on the way from Amazon so may do in future. I have done 2 tests today (got confused by first one!) and still negative.

You probably just ovulated a day or two late, which will delay the start of your period...

Easier said than done, but try to relax.

I'm having the exact same issue right now lol!!! Had my last period 2nd may lasting 6days, according to the app I should have been due my period Monday but so far nothing! Ovia told my to test Sunday which I did but came up negative. No symptoms really other than tender boobs (could be a sign of AF to be fair) overly tired (had to take a nap last Thursday and Friday after work!) a little bit emotional here and there and slight nausea here and there....all which could be signs of AF as well as possible pregnancy!! So confusing and frustrating! Now I'm confused as to when to do another test? How long till you'll do another?

So frustrating isn't it, cos even if you get a negative you're still wondering if you tested too early. I did a different test from what I have used before, and it seemed to show two lines till I realised that was a strange thing about its design and didn't really mean two lines. It was a bit of a shock though as I think in my heart I know this can't be 'it' - we've been not that careful with contraceptives this month, but also not totally without them. I think just cos we are gearing up to properly starting to TTC.

I think I will leave it til Friday cos I am driving myself loopy.

That's it, no period and negative tests drive you crazy as you assume like you said that you've tested to early and there could still be a chance whereas when AF arrives at least you know then. I've been symptom spotting like crazy but that's not really any use either though as some symptoms are same as when I'm getting my period so I just leave myself frustrated and confused lol! I'll be disappointed if it hasn't happened this time but it's only our second month so I'll try not to be too disheartened. I'll try leave it another couple of days too as being only two days late isn't setting off alarm bells for me really.

I caved and went to the doctor, who I was surprised didn't tell me I was being an idiot! He did another urine test, also negative - no surprise there. Said that as my previous period was really long, it is likely that ovulation this month happened later than normal. He reckons it will arrive in next few days but if not (or if it comes and is really long) I have to go back and have tests to check all hormones working normally and I am ovulating.

Hope this helps put others' minds at rest too as could be an explanation.

My AF arrived today, I wasn't surprised as had been feeling crappy last night and had tummy ache and just had a gut feeling. Obviously just a longer cycle than normal for me. Glad you went to the Dr and got some advice. Let us know what happens over the next few days

I think highly unlikely I am pregnant.
Hope you feel better soon.

How are you feeling LauraK1987?

Well I think my period is on its way - teeny bit of bleeding this morning.

I will just be pleased to know what's going on though.

And I'm excited because - sorry if TMI - last night DH and I properly went condom-free... as in until now we've been saying we'll start TTC soon, and kinda doing some of it condom free but putting one on midway through... which I know isn't exactly sensible but it was kinda our way of easing ourselves into the idea of trying. So now we really are... feels like a big step.

Going a bit crazy here...

Nothing since that tiny bit of spotting hours ago. Keep expecting period to start.

Have a dull ache - could be period pains.

A week ago I had twinges as I'd expect to have just before period.

Discharge changed from creamy white to watery and clear.

Reduced appetite.

Tests every day up to and including yesterday are negative.

Not ovulating today (first time I've measured that).

Am I over thinking it??!! Could I be pregnant?

My discharge changed from creamy white to clear and watery and had a dull ache the day before my period came. You're getting very confusing symptoms though! If nothing by Monday id go back to Dr? I'm ok thank you, ready for this period to be over though lol I'm so impatient! This is only our second cycle of trying so still feeling pretty confident....I want it to happen sooner rather than later though
