New thread here as I love the other thread I follow but 35th birthday in two weeks and cycle #6 of TTC atm Envy

Finding it hard to relate to some of the other threads with people joining in and getting upduffed on month1. Happy for them, but making me feel a bit Sad

Also not 25 anymore (big inner child but that doesnt count Grin) and I can't afford the "it will happen to you", "just relax" ways as I don't have bloody time!!! ConfusedConfused

Anyone out there wants to join me for some TMI, rant, support and positive chats that say we can still do this!!!!!!

TTC #3
TTC for around 13 months, with some breaks. Two MCs.

Hopefully may will be our month!
Which fertility monitor have you got? I started duo fertility yesterday. Trying to forget all about it as I don't ever seem to get pregnant if I "try".

Morning - can I join you?

41
Cycle 8
TTC #2 (other DC is 8 - this is new partner)
Currently day 4 of flashing smiley. Hoping today is a solid one.

Have seen GP, I'm ovulating and pretty sure no issues my end (except I'm old Wink )

His results from 1st test were mixed but issues around mortility (I think, the one where there are lots but not many of them are swimming well)

His repeat test in a week or so.

I'm using CLear blue dual monitor stick things.

Did temping and as you say after a couple of month was making me so stressed. Did a month of no charting/sticks then this is third month back to OV sticks.

I'm pretty pissed off now, my age is a pain. Not sure if want to try IVF route (even if we could magic the money) as it is very full on. And I'm old(er) and it might break my head and heart.

I'm mixed of hearing stories of other successes is lovely but also I need sometimes to just be able to feel like this is shit. And wallow. Without people telling me 'relax it might just happen'

Hello Blueskies! So happy I am not alone!!!
So sorry about your MCs Sad

I hot the old version of clear blue, the one that is not as pretty but apparently works Smile I really hope it arrives tonight because I am CD5 and otherwise I have to wait another cycle to use it.

I am also using EPO and preseed/ conceive plus

Do you mind me asking how long it took with your other 2 and how old you were then? Confused

May will be our month!!!!! GrinSmileGrinSmileGrinSmileGrin

Welcome bathlover!! GrinSmileGrinSmile great to hear no issues! "I am old" GrinGrin you are not!!! We are spring chickens!
I was shocked at how much some people have spent on IVF (21k and so on) and unfortunately we will never be able to afford that Sad And also I suffer from on and off anxiety and depression so not sure I could do it anyway...
So I understand what you mean.
And yes, age is a constant thing in my head too. I would like 2 or 3 kids but now I don't think that would be possible now and just hoping I get 1!!!!!
Blueskies sorry to hear about AF Envy

Hi bathlover! Welcome. Fingers crossed. It's hard not to worry but then it's great you are ovulating. Hopefully it will be our month!

Ever! Thank you. It took nearly 3 years to conceive no 1, I have PCOS (very irregular cycles. They vanished for months while I was Ttc no1). Had clomid and monitoring but it stressed me out so much we stopped. After a while I stopped thinking about getting pregnant (although did use duofertility monitor so I knew I was ovulating) and then it happened, was nearly 31. Fell pregnant with dc2 very quickly, when dc1 was ten months old! They are now nearly 5 and 3.

So from not being able to fall pregnant easily in my 20s(despite what the daily fail would have you believe!) I am finding it easier now I'm a bit older but they are not sticking!

Good luck ladies xxx

TTC#1
Cycle 7 (AF arrived yesterday)

Not been temping as keep forgetting when I wake up but using opks religiously.

I know 6 months isn't a long time in the grand scheme of things but it's gets so frustrating having no success each month - especially when everyone I know seems to get a BFP in their first cycle!

Hello everyone, please can I join?

I think this thread was made for me!

35
TTC #1
Cycle 8

I love seeing other people's BFP's on other threads too but I'm just aware that at my old lady age it might take a bit longer for me, so really pleased to have found you. Smile

I'm currently waiting for the 2nd of my 21 day blood tests next week. Went to the doctor last month and I'm having 3 of these tests and DH had his SA last week so 3 weeks to wait for those results.

Just started testing with the Clear Blue ovulation sticks - I found temping too stressful too as it made me think of TTC from the second I woke up every day and it all got a bit much.

Blueskies thanks for sharing Smile that is so interesting! Gosh our bodies are funny things! I swear my cycles were always 27, 28, 29 and as soon as I started TTC they became 23, 21, 24... Confused
I hope the next one sticks!!!!
Noooo!!! Don't go!!! I am TTC#1 but the experience is good here!!! Don't leave us!!!!

Hi evergreen
Aah thank you!! I'll stay, not sure how much wisdom I have on TTC haha (I'm probably a bit out of date!) but I will stay!!
The temping used to make me stressed out too and I never remembered to do it either! Opks never worked for me. Pcos can give false positives too!

Is the advice to see the gp after six months TTC once you're 35, is that right? Good luck with the gp visit. Iirc blood tests are the first stop, to check you're ovulating. Can be tricky to get them at the right time if you don't have a textbook 28 day cycle though .

Welcome to all the other new faces. Lullah sorry AF showed up. Frankie welcome too. And 35 is not old, neither is early 40s!

I have a good feeling about this thread. I hope it will bring us all our BFPs!

Yes, Seeing the doc after 6 months of trying and age 35 Confused I hope she is nice and that she trays me seriously. She has been very nice with other issues in the past.
I am really hoping this os our lucky thread.
These past six months I have been so focussed on this TTC that I have been upset and also gained lots of weight.
I am very proud of myself because today I only ate healthy foods and I went for a run SmileSmileSmile
Trying to stay healthy physically and mentally starting today!

Good luck with the results of your and your DH's tests Frankie and well done Evergreen on the healthy eating and run - I'm useless on the exercise front! Hope the fertility monitor works well for you - have been using one since last month so like you am hoping it makes a difference Smile

Blueskies - glad to see you stayed and so sorry to hear about your mcs. Bathlover - hope the results of your DP's second test are positive.

Fingers crossed this thread brings us all a BFP!

Evening lovelies,

Evergreen I've got ridiculously long cycles post-pill so it been about 9 months but the nhs guidelines say if you're over 35 you should go to the Dr after 6 months. My Dr was really lovely and sympathetic. Blood tests are to confirm ovulation but last test none was detected - as Blue said it's tricky to get the test day right if you're irregular so I'm trying not to be too disheartened.

Hope you're all ok. xx

My GP was lovely and hasn't questioned my age at all.

My OH's GP (different surgeries) phoned him with his results and was positive about them. It was only when we got the paper copy and I googled I realised there were issues. His GP had already said you need 2 lots of tests done.

Luckily this cycle the test will fall outside of the week I'm OV, as you have to stop dtd for a few days.

I've been using the CB duo OV sticks for last 3 cycles. I had been lent one of the old CB monitors but I am getting on better with the duo. Exactly same idea really.

But stupidly I ran out of sticks as had 4 flashing smileys, and usually would have had 2 then peak.

Ordered more but did test yesterday with new one and it was low. So not sure if that is because it was a new one so thought it was first day. Have been ov each month so I'm hoping the stick either missed it or was as new one.

I'm just frustrated I can't mark OV on my chart!

Oh away tonight, but we've had dtd very well covered this week, so hopefully in with a chance (although I think I'm conning myself but you have to keep trying/hoping I guess)

I drove myself bits the first few months obsessing and was all I could think of. Temping didn't help that. The month when I didn't track anything was great idea as I just forgot about it all. But was also aware of 'wasting' a month.

So next stage for us is the test and results of the SA, then see what GP says. OH been taking his vitamins this month at least!

Thanks lullah Smile I love new gadgets Grin
Frankie thanks for that, I have made an appointment for after my holidays Confused
I assume my DP will need to be tested too? Not sure how I will manage to convince him Hmm
Bath it sounds like you are covered with dtd anyway Smile everything crossed. I am in CD6 so not dtd yet for me, lots of sleep Grin. I find it exhausting. Ten years ago it was different!
What is the SA??
I hope my DP is willing to do the testing too

Morning rant: there is this girl in the office next door whom I dont particularly like (she walks around as she is better than the rest and she is quite mean to other girls and annoying), and of course she is pregnant and "such a surprise, we werent trying" EnvyEnvyEnvy
So everyday she comes to use the photocopier kills me a bit. Sad

SA is sperm/semen analysis.

I am totally confused now re CB tests. Used a new stick in the old monitor and it's a flashing smiley.

Think I'll ring them later and ask Confused

Evergreen17 · 21/04/2016 07:47

Ahh I have never used those ones, I went from the cheap opk sticks that show 2 lines to this monitor. I could not make the other ones work.
Is flashy high and constant peak?
