Faint line on early response test from Lloyds - ADVICE NEEDED

cbmb12 · 26/03/2016 06:50

We have just started ttc but I am still only 8 or 9dpo but had an early response test from Lloyds and I am impatient so I did the test, totally expecting it to be negative but then got a faint line- does anyone know if these tests ever give false positives? Also your opinion on the line itself would be v welcome!

No such thing as a false BFP, the hormone is there or it isn't.

Congratulations.

If it was there within the time limit and is pink in colour it's positive Smile

Did the line appear straight away? If so then it looks like a positive!

I'd say congratulations! Smile

It looks pinky to me but maybe I'm imagining things. I'd guess line took 2-3 mins to appear? I'm just so so surprised as i was only 8 or 9dpo yesterday- didn't know they could show that early

I'd say that's a BFP Thanks

Not particularly faint. I'd say quite strong for 9 dpo. Buy a digital if you are feeling the need for clear confirmation.

Would it even be implanted by now?

It's apparently a 10 UI/L test ....

I am nervous of trying a digi in case it's negative and I get depressed ;) Don't want to get my hopes up .... But fingers tightly crossed.

Have any of you had a BFP very early?

That looks positive! Congratulations!

I got a positive like that at 12DPO but a digi didn't show until after period was due. I'm now 40+3.

Good luck, OP.

I got a positive FRER at 8/9dpo.

Looks pretty positive to me! Steer clear of digitals or blue dye, they're crap. If you keep going with the early response ones you'll probably find they'll get darker Smile

I don't want to show my husband in case it's wrong somehow or ends up as a chem pregnancy (don't want to get him excited only to disappoint) ... But I also really do .... Eek!

Ooh, beware taking repeated tests to see if they get darker. There are so many variables involved that if they don't you'll drive yourself insane!

Or, know this, and do it anyway! (I did!)

Show your DH! Although mine dismissed it until the line was clearly, unarguably dark!

Looks positive to me. Grin Maybe you ovulated a couple of days earlier than you thought?

Did a superdrug early test this afternoon and it was negative and now I'm feeling so gloomy and also confused by yesterday evening's result :( :(

Does the picture look like it could have been an evap line?

See this is the risk of early testing.

It all depends on the sensitivity of the test, on your hydration levels, etc.

It might just mean you're well hydrated and that test is less sensitive, or it could be what you fear. There's no way of knowing yet. Ideally, leave it a few days before you test again. or at least use fmu every time

I know.... and you are right...but I feel very disappointed. I have also been reading threads about false positives/very early chem pregnancies and that doesn't help.

Both tests I took were 10 IU/L ones.... just different brands.

Yes but was one with FMU? That will make a massive difference this early on.

Did you take the second test at a different time of day? Your wee will have less hormones in the afternoon!

Depends on whether the line appeared within the time limit.

Reckon it's BfP though.

You might go a little nuts and spend a lot testing before AF is due!

I don't like Lloyds tests, I have had a few of faint lines but negative on Frer. Try with s Frer before you give up.
