Hello - I am TTC baby no 2 and am in need of some advice as I am going a bit crackers.

We have been trying for about 6 months for no 2 - I have a crazy irregular cycle and so don't have a clue when things are happening. To cut a long story short, I think I am/have been pregnant, I got a faint positive FRER on Sunday morning but have since had a negative FRER (Tuesday) then a negative cheapie yesterday and finally a NOT PREGNANT from Clearblue Digital today. I have had pregnancy symptoms since 25th Feb, sore boobs and feeling sick and exhausted. I don't know what to believe now, I still have the symptoms but the negative tests seem pretty definitive. This happened to me last September too. So I'm trying to understand more about what might be going on, I still feel a bit hopeful but also realistically I think it's not going to work out this time.

Anyone offer some words of wisdom? And can anyone recommend a good app - I currently use WomanLog but find it a bit hard to understand.

And finally - is there a thread somewhere which explains all the acronyms used on this board?

Thanks!

Hi Should,

I'm feeling helpful!

Here's a link to the acronyms list:

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time ttc. I found the Ovia app useful whilst trying, its quite simply laid out and I found it easy to understand. Understand it can be much harder with irregular cycles though. Were you on birth control prior to ttc, or have you always had cycles like this?

Did you take the second FRER using fmu on the Tuesday? As hormone levels are higher in the morning. Also, CB digitals are much less sensitive. I'm guessing you don't know when your period is/was due because of crazy cycles? It is so hard when pre-AF and pregnancy symptoms are so darned similar. If you don't get AF then maybe try another FRER in the morning?

It sounds like what happened in September could have been a chemical, if you had a positive followed by negatives and then a period. Fx this isn't the same and hope you get a definitive answer very soon.

Thanks so much, that is very helpful! I have always had irregular cycles, before I had DS I had some investigations and on a scan they did it showed up that I had polycystic ovaries but they didn't seem to think I had PCOS - in any case I got pregnant quite soon after that and so it was never followed up. I do seem to be ovulating which is encouraging.

The second FRER was with fmu, yes. I read on here after I had done the digital one that they aren't as sensitive, so that is useful to know. It's so hard to tell what is going on and I'm feeling very emotional as I just want to know one way or another. The FRER was faint but no more so than other tests I've seen on here - maybe it was evap lines, I don't know. The symptoms are still strong so maybe there's a chance, but I am confused by the negative tests. Hopefully I should know one way or another soon.

My last 6 cycles have been 34,43,53,49,54 and 38 days, so I use an average 44 day cycle in my app, but obviously that could be 10 days out either way which makes it difficult to know, I'm on day 49 now so maybe it could just be too early to test. But we last DTD (thanks for the acronym list!) on 17th & 19th Feb, which according to my app should have been just before ovulation. But that is based on a 44 day cycle which could be totally wrong!

I guess it's in the lap of the gods now, just so frustrating! Thanks for replying and for the fx! I am off to download Ovia.
