Any temping experts fancy having a look at my chart?

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to look. Would this suggest I ovulated? My opks say no as they only went about a third as dark as the control line. I definitely didn't miss it with the opks as I checked each time I went for a wee on the important dates. This is my 1st month charting and am struggling a little.

In order to confirm ov your temp rise must be sustained for at least 3 days and that's only if they are all above the cover line. I would estimate your cover line(average temp) to be at about 97.7 so you need 2 more days to sustained temp rises before it will confirm ov. I'm no expert but that's what I've learnt from 14 months of temping!

Good luck!

By the way, I would say you probably have oved from your chart. You just need to wait for confirmation! Smile

Thank you rosebud! I wasn't sure how to do the cover line. I'll post again in a few more days with an updated chart Grin
I suppose the opks must be wrong, or maybe just not sensitive enough.

I never got a positive opk, but I am pregnant so ovulation must have happened!

Rose is spot on. Keep going, but it looks good!

Congratulations honey when are you due? did you ever get any sort of line on opks? I have had a positive opk twice. The month we were pregnant (unsuccessful sadly) it only went to shout 2/3 of the line. But since mc I'm getting a pathetic line. Pleased I've started chatting, I thought it would be harder than it is! Here's hoping for a few more days of high temp!

You're welcome! I oved last month on 150mg clomid (confirmed by blood test and temps) and this month by myself (confirmed by temps and EWCM) but never got a positive opk. They frustrate the hell out of me! X

I'd say you OVed and your temp will confirm it in a few days. I never got on with OPKs but I did get pregnant and temping accurately predicted my due date! Good luck :)

If you use Fertility Friend it'll do the cover line for you.

I think that looks like ovulation on CD15. I agree with doobeedee though - I've found Fertility Friend much better for temping as it calculates everything for you.

Yep, thirding fertility friend - it makes it much easier!

Report
Vap0 · 15/10/2015 10:28

So fertility friend has drawn the cover line quite a lot lower?
Any thoughts?

Actually rose you were spot on with the control line. So your temp needs to stay above te control line for 3/4 days is that right?

Woah! I'm clearly better at this than I thought Smile

Yes you are right. If you did ov on the date it is suggesting, than your temp should stay above the coverline until preg or AF! There will be some variation up and down but you should see a gradual increase.

And you DTD on the day before ov- perfect timing Smile

What's your chart looking like? I'm an expert on timing dtd! Lots of practice over the last couple of years! Decided to have a go at temping this month after months of putting it off. Now I'm loving it!
When will you test rose?
So am I right thinking that if I ovulated it will stay above cover line but if not it will dip below? How long does it need to stay above cover line to confirm ovulation? Just 4 days or longer?

Def ovulated on day 15. The drop in temp on that day is the estrogen surge. I recommend a book called taking charge of your fertility. It's fantastic.

Vap0 I'd say you've already confirmed that you did ovulate on day 15, with 3 days of higher temps. As someone else has said, it should stay above the coverline now until your period but if it dips below the coverline that's nothing to worry about.

MrsPCR · 15/10/2015 16:05

You've got your 3 temps above cover line and OV was CD 15, on 12th Oct. You only need 3 to confirm it but once you're regular, the rise alone is normally accurate. Hopefully you temp will remain high now! One off drop can be sign of implantation or just random anomaly.

If you see from my chart, my temps were all over the place month I got my BFP. I found temping only really helpful for confirming ov abd if I wasn't so addicted to it, I was going to stop temping once ov had been confirmed.

Good luck and fingers crossed! Oh and avoid thinking that some how your chart has anything to do with your BFP. I kept forgetting that it was dtd that was relevant, not obsessing over my chart!

Morning all
Congratulations on your bfp mrspcr

Good news - temp has stayed up!
Bad news - it has changed my ov date to the day after and we didn't dtd bear enough I don't think, I had kind of given up with the opks being so faint.

Do you think it is right?

I wouldn't say you were out for this month, you dtd 2 days before ov so there was sperm in the right place at the right time. Most sperm easily survive 3 days and can survive up to a week. Fingers crossed for that BFP in about a week's time.

If nothing else, at least the temping has shown nice middle of the month ovulation, which after your was it nearly 2 years without periods is at least a sign your body is hopefully getting into a more helpful rhythm for TTC. Good luck!

I'm currently pregnant from a 2day before ovulation encounter. Never say never!

mrspcr yes, I'm pleased this means ov occurred. Do we know in the actual likelihood of ov occurring if the temps change as expected? I'm struggling to be convinced due to my lame opk's. I've tried googling it but don't know what to search for.
lbocs thanks for your story! Congratulations to you! As ever the fingers and toes are securely crossed X
Hope is what gets me though the 2nd part of the cycle!

Thanks Vap0, 15 weeks and starting to feel slightly less crap now...

Are you following all the instructions on the OPKs? I ask because I was convinced mine weren't working when I was TTC DD and it actually turned out that it would have been helpful to read the instructions; you really do need concentrated wee in the middle/end of the afternoon for it to work.
