This is my 4th IVF - please tell me it might have worked this time? There's a line, but I took the test hours ago...

So after 3 failed IVFs, I POAS this morning to see if the 4th one has worked.

It's been 12 days since I had 2x 5 day old blastocysts thawed and transferred back.

I POAS at around 7 this morning, watched the urine make its way along, and saw the control line appear but no test line. Devastated, I went back to bed. I definitely hadn't waited the 3-4 minutes that the instructions say. I then got up 2 hours later and it looks like the attached pic.

Can I get my hopes up? Has this happened to anyone else and it's turned out to be a real BFP? I just need to test again tomorrow morning, don't I? Any tips on getting through the next 24 hours?

PLEASE let this be a BFP! Confused

Thanking you in advance for your time Flowers

I desperately hope it will be, but I have to say I once left a pregnancy test out for a while and it turned positive when it wasn't and gave me quite a shock.

I really hope that isn't the case for you Flowers In your shoes, as it were, I'd do another. X

I think you can get your hopes up a teeny bit but not all the way. I've had a bfp that started the same way. I tested two days later and it came up within the timeframe. However others might have experienced of it going the other way.

I really am hoping this is your time. Flowers

I had 5 cycles of IVF so know exactly what your going through.

It looks like a positive to me, but you can't be certain so why not go and get another test. IME Clearblue are the best, but not the digital one.

I really hope it is, good luck x

I really hope that when you re test it is a BFP! I'd say you have good reason to be hopeful.

I don't want to get your hopes up too much, but that's exactly what happened to me with the test, and DS is now 5. Fingers crossed xx

No way is that an evap. That's a line, I'd stake an awful lot on it.

My positives were fainter than that. I used the poundland sticks and and they were sensitive and accurate. I always waited the minutes and more! To me, looks excellent. Very, very best wishes for tomorrow.

You can't really say either way since you didn't look within the time frame. I wouldn't build your hopes up, take another in the morning.
We've done a few rounds of ivf and I know how horrible a negative is but building your hopes up and finding out it's negative is even worse.
You could do a test tonight, if you're 12 days past transfer it can still show on an evening test.

I, on a whim, walked past a pharmacy and bought a test. POAS in the mall loo before going to the supermarket. No line, but no bin so just put the test in my hand bag. 10 minutes late my phone went so I opened my bag and there was the faint line. DD is 3.

Good luck!

There's a big difference between 10 mins and 2 hours though. Especially where pregnancy tests are concerned.

Yes, I thought there might be, which is why I mentioned it.

I promised I'd update with this morning's test and I'm afraid it's not looking great. I think I can see the faintest of lines, my DH thinks there's nothing there Sad

I'm trying to tell myself that it's because it's a different brand of test. I'll probably buy another one today to try tomorrow morning.

Thanks for all of your support Flowers

I've never seen that kind of test before. Where does the pregnant line show? Is it a test you can take this early or just a standard test?

Boysclothes · 14/09/2015 08:11

I can see a shadow on that test. Try a FRER, it will work with urine any time of the day.

LittleBear01 · 14/09/2015 08:17

It a cheap one you can buy in bulk on Amazon or eBay. I think they're meant to be quite sensitive. The test line would show to the left of the control line in the pic above. I'll buy a test designed for early testing today though and see how I get on. Thanks for your response.

OP, I had lots of IVF and I went through lots of those cheap tests. They were all inaccurate - rubbish, the lot of them.

Get another Clearblue.
Test 1st thing in the morning if you can wait that long.

Good luck (your 1st pic looked v encouraging to me).x

Highly recommend either the Superdrug own brand tests (in a pink box) pr a First response. Both are the most sensitive you can get. When I was trying I used the Amazon ones, was hit and miss if it cane up positive on them, even after having pregnancy confirmed with doctors via blood test!
Wishing you all the luck in the world OP!
