TTC for 18 months- hoping for a BFP

I thought I would start a thread with my story. I have been TTC for 18 months now with no joy. I am overweight, but otherwise in good health. Had general check up at Drs along with fertility tests and all fine. DTD regularly, and have a cycle of 44 days so quite long. OH has not done tests to check he is ok.

I am currently 12 days late. My longest ever cycle has been 46 days. So far I have been feeling quite drunk after a single drink (stopped drinking totally now) am exhausted, feeling pretty achy in my lower back, plus a few cramps, had a headache for 4 days solid , hot all the time and waking up loads in the night (I NEVER wake up) I have been waiting for so long that I am scared to test in case I get a BFN. Am plucking up the courage to buy a test tonight and do it in the morning. Keeping FX (and toes, and pretty much anything I can) If not then I am going to start doing a lot more proactively such as temperatures etc, which I haven't done up until now plus back on Slimming World in earnest!

Fingers crossed for you!
How come your OH hasn't had fertility testing?

thanks magpie He is planning to but although we were semi-trying he wasn't totally on board (wanted to move into a new role at work first) until quite recently so hadn't got round to having the tests. Funnily enough now that he knows that it might be a distinct possibility he is all excited.

Do you track your bbt to check when you ovulate? When I went abroad earlier this year I was supposed to ovulate the day I went but it didn't happen till two days after id got back so af was 7 days late. If I hadn't have been tracking ovulation I would have been convinced I was pregnant but luckily I could work out what was going on! Perhaps you have ovulatedlater this cycle x

Have to confess I haven't. Although we have been sort of trying without putting a huge amount of effort in for a while it is only recently we have been seriously trying and making a big effort. Going to start tracking lot more as of this month.

It can be very useful and help work out what's going on, but it is also nice to just take a relaxed approach otherwise it can take over your life a bit! Hope af arrives soon so you are able to get going on next cycle!
