Hi everyone,

Think the title says it all really, just hoping there are others out there about to go through the same thing.

We've been ttc for over a year, recently got referred to a specialist, and was given clomid on friday (yesterday was the 1st day of my period, so took clomid for the first time today). No side effects yet.

Am 38 (feeling very old to only fairly recently be ttc)...hoping this works, and that I haven't left this all too late.

one last thing...is there any help anywhere, ref. all the acronymns on the conception/pregnancy boards (I know some of them, just not all).

cc

Just to say clomid worked for me on the 2nd month. Made me a little crazy, but all worth it. Good luck!

Hi clementine i am on my first cycle of clomid and started a thread recently on it too.

CD 27 for me and I only think i ovulated around CD23ish so not a blazing success so far.

anyway not out the game yet, fingers crossed and good luck to you too.

i got super emotional on day 2 of taking the tablets but otherwise no side effects.

Hi new leaf, hope all goes well for you.

Can I ask a stupid question...how do you know you ovulated around CD23...is that due to any monitoring the doctor is doing with you, or is it using home bought ovulation tests? Ref the ovulating, should we be ovulating around day 14?

Previously, when ttc, we have purposley tried not to add too much stress to it all, so I haven't been ovulation testing/temping etc...

...suddenly feels like I don't know what I'm doing Shock

I went for cd14 scan which showed only a couple follicles at just 8mm. I've always had long cycles and around cd23 I had ECWM, ovulation pain and ridiculously positive opk I have never had before.

Yes by textbook it should be cd14.
Hmm

But I'll take whatever I can get WinkWinkWink

thanks newleaf, that helps. not sure what is going on with my cycles this year, I used to be very regular at 28 days, but now, I can range between 27 and 35 day cycles...I'm also normally very heavy when on, always have been... however this month, AF has been 2 days and very light...weird

like I haven't got enough to be worrying about Confused

pipandposey, hope your app goes okay this afternoon.
