Thanks for all of your kind words BroBerries - it's all a bit stressful :(
I'm really hoping to have some growth by the scan tomorrow, or I think they will just get me to call it off this month. I told them that I had been on the pill as the consultant at the other clinic had said it might throw things off a bit, and indeed my last two cycles were long, one at 40 days and other 30, and I ovulated really late. I expect I'll just be having a long cycle this time too, and don't know if there is any problem with that in terms of egg quality. DH is supposed to be travelling with work Thursday and Friday next week, which is also a bit worrying in terms of timing.

Lucie sorry to hear your cycle isn't going well. I think I started cyclogest at day 5 then had EC at day 9! I was on 350 of Gonal F. My clinic seemed to go more on the blood results than on the scans though.

Will try and catch up with everybody else later on, I need to go out now.

Thanks for the new thread!

lucieloos · 25/06/2015 19:01

Marking my place. Will catch up later.

barkingtreefrog · 25/06/2015 19:02

Thanks for the luffly new thread Happy!
Wow, 14 rounds of IVF between us (and that's just those on the stats). How depressing. Let's raise a glass of real champagne from the champagne region to this thread bringing some much better and well deserved news! Grin.

And the good news can start with you, kuma - I think you're right, a longer cycle would be a perfectly logical explanation.

Gorgeous and fab new thread. Thank you for making it Happy.

The birthday cake turned out well - look. No Champagne from the Champagne region so DH is sticking to red wine. He's convinced I'm fine to drink until a pregnancy is confirmed. He knows nothing. Grin

Thanks Happy, love the title Grin

Wild that looks amazing!

minx loving the idea they may be reading the thread and suspicious of every person going in Grin

kuma yes that seems like a sensible explanation, would they maybe start you on stims for a few days and see how you go? All fingers crossed.

Lucie what did you decide?

Barking you are totally right, we need much more good news this time!

funkymonk · 25/06/2015 20:50

Hello new thread!
Very sorry to read the disappointing news Lucie. My first IVF got abandoned mid way and that was 6 months ago now, so never really got my head around different meds and different doses, so I can't really offer my pennies worth there. It's so frustrating for you to be in this situation.
Wild, the cake looks scrummy. Sadly I have no talents in life. I can barely even walk these days without falling over. Fell over in the hospital grounds a few weeks ago, after my IVF planning appointment. As if having to go there wasn't enough, I then had to disgrace myself in a public place.
Has anyone heard of, or used inofolic and wobenzym?
On phone app so can't copy and paste list sorry. Please add me...
Funkymonk, 33. Ttc since Oct 2012. July 2013 mc 5 weeks, Dec 2013 mmc 8 weeks, June 2014 chemical. IVF dec 2014/jan 2015- abandoned due to thin lining. Sooo knew this was my issue all along. 4 blasts on ice. Starting FET July. Factor V Leiden thrombophilia. Humpff.

lucieloos · 25/06/2015 20:53

We are cancelling beaky, if the 6 follciles were all fairly decent sizes we would have continued but they aren't the majority are only 7-9mm which is rubbish for day 10.I emailed the UK clinic today and the head embryologist actually replied to me. I explained our 2 cycles and he said my first cycle was practically perfect albeit apart from the lack of pregnancy and as an embryologist with a cycle like that he would be expecting a pregnancy so think he was just saying we were unlucky there which made me feel a bit better and hopefully we will get another cycle like that. We are going to pay to have a consultation in the UK and go with a massive list of questions so that we can get things clear in our own mind and see what medication etc they would recommend and then go back to czech for another try. I don't know how long I need to wait to start again tho. I've read so many things from straight away to a couple of months. We haven't had all the collection etc so don't know if that makes a difference?

TheRainDrops · 25/06/2015 21:42

Loving the thread title happy!!
Cheers!

Sorry to hear your bad news lucie. That really is baffling, did the embryologist offer any sort of explanation for what might have happened this time? FX third time is the charm for you but in the meantime be good to yourself.

kuma crossing all but legs for you for tomorrow!

wild that cake looks lush! Lucky DH - I never make MrP birthday cakes! I'm not even a bad cook/baker, just never remember to do it.

funky oh dear, was it a proper face plant or a stumble? I did a really cool (i like to imagine) tumble on my way out of London Bridge station the other week, UP some stairs! Of course, being London, not one bugger stopped to help! I had to laugh tho when I got to my usual coffee place and the quote of the day on their espresso machine was
"if you fall, I'll always be there to catch you" - The floor

tiger my next cycle should start on July 10th, when I am to call the clinic to let them know. Our 'implications' appointment is on the 14th where they'll run through the drugs etc. and all being well I'll start stabbing around the 31st (LP). All getting quite close now!

lucieloos · 25/06/2015 22:25

The embryologist said that follicles normally only disappear because of medication or a change in medication typically. He said if they shrunk or disappeared on their own then that would be very hard to control. I don't know if the cetrotide had some effect on them? I don't know what he meant by that really.

happylass · 25/06/2015 22:34

So is the Cetrotide is used with antagonist protocol? Could you just ask to do short protocol in future Lucie?

OP posts:
TheRainDrops · 25/06/2015 22:36

Ps, has anyone seen/heard from Lumen recently?

lucieloos · 25/06/2015 22:37

The antagonist is short protocol isn't it happy? What protocol did you do?

WildflowerMarmalade · 25/06/2015 22:57

Found this Lucie which appears to back up your instincts. I'm guessing the Ganirelex it refers to is similar to Cetrotide.

happylass · 25/06/2015 23:04

No Lucie I always thought they were the same but apparently not. I did short protocol so started injecting Buserelin to down reg on cd2/3, same time as I started the Menopur.
Rain I was thinking about Lumen too. We are friends on FB and she sometimes comments on my activity but I've not spoken to her re TTC in a while.

OP posts:
lucieloos · 25/06/2015 23:26

Wild thanks for that article it's very interesting! Maybe my LH levels have been rising too much. I think next time I'm going to find additional scans and bloods myself to see exactly what's going on. I don't know that about the short protocol happy, I'm going to ring up crgw tomorrow and try and get an appt with Amanda and discuss everything so I will ask her about that.

Smidge001 · 26/06/2015 01:58

Thanks for the kicks minx. I'm trying to avoid checking for any symptoms (or confirming lack of). Imagine me wearing blinkers, refusing to look when I go the loo, and wearing layers of clothes to hide the lack of increase in boob size. I am surprised I haven't fallen over at home actually funky. At least if the londoners ignore you falling, it means they aren't pointing at you laughing either.Wink. I haven't heard of those drugs/supplements btw. (My first thought was that they were an autocorrect mixup!)

wild is your OTD on Monday? Mine's Wednesday, and I t doesn't seem to be getting any closer.

WildflowerMarmalade · 26/06/2015 07:24

Yes Lucie his response chimes with your feeling that the Cetrotide wasn't holding back the LH. During stims my bloods were checked with each scan.

Good work on the ignoring all signs/ non-signs Smidge. I like your style. My OTD is actually next Friday, but I will probably test before then.

happylass · 26/06/2015 07:39

Lucie just ask to do short or long protocol in future. You then shouldn't have the issue of your LH starting to rise. What is your AMH like?

OP posts:
happylass · 26/06/2015 07:41

Posted too soon then. Also meant to say when do you usually OV? Wouldn't have though antagonist is suitable for ladies who OV relatively early in their cycle. I think Barking did antagonist but I know she OVs quite late. Did they say why they chose antagonist for you?

wild next Friday? Wow that is so late! and I thought my clinic were over cautious with 11dp5dt. That must make you 15dp5dt? You'll already be 5 wks pregnant if that works Grin. At least it'll make the wait til scan nice and quick.

lucieloos · 26/06/2015 09:35

Thanks happy! They didn't really say why antagonist but I think they use it for a lot of their patients. I looked at long protocol before but they thought it may over suppress me because of the short cycles. How does the short protocol work and how would it stop my LH rising? My AMH is 7.3pmol so not great. I normally ovulate around day 11 or 12 naturally but have been told by serum in Greece that the ivf meds could possibly bring this forward even more. I have managed to get a consultation with Amanda for free next sat so I'm pleased with that. She is so lovely and have been very impressed with her.
