Hi ladies! I am 33 and have been trying to get preggars 6months now :( feels like forever. my partner has two children from prev relationship (marriage) and his ex fell pregnant straight away apparently, my younger sister-by 6 yrs is pregnant with her 2nd which happened 2 months into her relationship ! I have been really positive this month but my period is due wed and now i have brown spotting-meaning am out again. I guess i am just on a downer now... this sucks. I have a regular 28 day cycle and ovulate day 13 (opk) and have sex at least every other day! eating more healthily and tried fertilcm to help. I have worked with children for years and so long for my own. I am addicted to these threads and love how everyone is so supportive of one another! Fairy dust to us all!x

Hey beccarella! Thanks for sharing :) I have started trying recently too but it's already completely taken over my thoughts...and I think that surely that can't be good for you - added pressure and stress = negative effect on fertility. Maybe we need to relax a little more and try and put it to the back of our minds even if only temporarily. Then maybe it will come! 6 months isn't that long so don't worry (although I am sure it seems like ages to you!). Best of luck!

4 months but it has been complicated by the fact that I haven't had a period in 7 months. Came off the pill then had 3 periods and then nothing. I am having blood tests and am just praying that everything is ok. I wasn't particularly regular before I went on the pill but I have never gone this long before! Typical. I am the opposite to you at the moment - praying for a period so I at least know where I'm at. Are you using digital tests to track your ovulation?

oh no, sounds like you are having a hard time. well I feel silly but happy now as the day after my cm was creamy again and period hasn't come and faint positives showing on tests.....omg!!!!

Hi beccarella babycakes and sizzle can I join your thread. Think there is a gap in the market for a thread for people trying to conceive #1. As I know its awful when your trying for whichever number of child and your not having any luck, but I think its a slightly different if it's #1, with slightly different worries.

Sizzle which cycle are you on? I'm cycle 4 now, which I know is early days still.

Babycakes I hope the docs get to the bottom of whatevers causing your missing AF soon. TTC must be extremely complicated at the moment.

Beccarella ??? are congratulations in order then? x

Hello ladies! very much agreeing that some first-timer buddies can only be a good thing. May I join? x

Hey everyone!! How are we all? Lots of dtd planned for the weekend? Grin

Update: I got my AF yesterday! I was sooooooo happy as it means I can now start tracking my cycle and TTC properly. I'd started taking sevenseas 'trying for a baby' pills a few days before. It was probably way too soon for them to have made a difference, but you never know!

It's all I can think about at the moment. I'm so excited and find myself not being able to sit still at work! Been watching one born too :D how does everyone else contain their excitement?

PallasCat · 19/06/2015 18:00

Aww babycakes! Usually it's sympathy when AF arrives, but must be a real relief for you! Wine Glad your cycle is on the move(?!)
We're off earlyish tomorrow and staying with friends so prob only get to dtd today. Think most likely I'm past fertile week for this cycle, but just in case, eh? Wink

Ah thanks Bold: PallasCat! It is a relief Grin. Aha it's important to get as much practice in as you can.

Does anyone think that any particular positions are best when TTC? Or time of day - morning, midday or night?

Hi, can I join too? How is everyone doing today? Any updates?

I agree with Violet about the first-baby thing. It must be horrible wanting a larger family and not being able to have additional kids, but it can't be as bad as wanting a family and not being able to have any kids at all Sad. We're now in cycle 7 and I'm so terrified that I will never get pregnant and we'll never have our own children Sad.

Welcome Violet! Are your cycles regular and have you been tracking it with ovulation testing etc?

Looks like my AF is due to finish tomorrow so hopefully (fingers crossed) I will ovulate soon. This will be my first proper month of trying as it was so hard before having not had AF for 7 months.

Hi Violet, Flatwhite and PallasCat!!
Violet - I'm only on cycle 2 in the 2ww. I think I missed out this month.
Beccarella - any news??
To be honest ttc has been in the back of my mind as this weekend as my OH was extremely ill and ended up in hospital. He is on the mend but it certainly makes you realise just how precious life is.
I hope you are all doing well xx

Hey everyone,

beccarella update?...!

I'm ttc #1 and in the 2ww, cycle 2. Glad to read everyone's stories and journeys to keep my hand away from the drawer full of pregnancy tests!

Hey sizzle looks like we are cycle buddies (is that a thing?). Did you test already? I'm cd25 but I think I have a long cycle. Only had one period off the pill so far so still waiting for things to settle down.

Sizzle81 · 22/06/2015 14:30

Hi DelphinumStar, I'm too scared to test! Haha. Last month AF was 4 days late. I told myself I'd test at a week late and the witch came the evening of day 4!!!
I'm not hopeful at all this month as not much sexy time at all!!
How long have you been off the pill?

Report
DelphiniumStar · 22/06/2015 14:35

Hey sizzle. Hope DH is ok now?

I'm a total control freak so I'm finding this whole waiting business quite traumatic! Came off the pill in April and had 40 day cycle (enter irrational panicking) and now on cycle 2, hoping things will settle down. Good news is that the sex life is good!

Report
FlatWhiteToGo · 22/06/2015 19:02

Hi Sizzle how is your OH? If he's ended up in hospital then you can definitely put TTC to the back of your mind. I really hope he's ok (and you're ok too!) x

Sizzle81 · 23/06/2015 07:31

He is doing so much better, thanks. Yes, it is at the back of my mind right now but I love catching up on how everyone is!
Fx for you all x

Can I join (slightly prematurely!)? I'm also 33, planning to start TTC#1.
Unfortunately I have a smear test in 2 weeks so can't stop taking the pill until after that really, I am also a control freak and not happy that now I have to wait!

I have been taking it since I was 18, I had a nice 28 day cycle in my teens but god knows what it's like now and how long it'll take to get back to normal. So I'm using the waiting time to buy some vitamins and ovulation strips and eat more healthily as my diet has been crap the last few months.

Hi, can I join too? I'm TTC#1 but it's very early days yet. I had the implant taken out on the 1st June. I can't remember the last time I had a period as I didn't have them whilst on the implant and didn't have them whilst I was on the depo injection for years prior to having the implant in. Before that I was on the pill, so I suppose I haven't had a natural period since I was about 16 (now 37)!! Anyway, I haven't had any bleeding yet since the implant was removed. Just had some cramping a few days after. But I have been feeling sick a lot and actually have been sick on a couple of occasions. Wish my body would hurry up and get back to normal!!!Grin

Hi everyone! Derby and Banana - I feel your pain with the coming off contraception troubles. Waiting for everything to settle down is the worst. Following my first AF in 7 months, I am now 7 days into my cycle. Hope it doesn't take me weeks and weeks to ovulate =/. I did have irregular periods before going on the pill but never this irregular.

Fingers crossed for us all!
