First Clomid cycle starts tonight!

Hi Ladies, after actively trying for over 16 months of trying I will be starting Clomid for the first cycle tonight. Slightly nervous about side effects but excited.

I've tried all natural methods, acupuncture, diet, soy, (meditating!?) etc before finally going to Docs and all paths leading to Clomid.

So, my renewed excitement, enthusiasm, hopefulness leads me back to mumsnet. Baby, here we come!

Anyone else starting Clomid, with positive stories, or expecting a BFP at the end of June/First week of July come join my symptom spotting and positivity. THIS IS THE MONTH!

(i hope)

Good luck NewLeaf! Smile

I'm currently on day 32 of my first Clomid cycle and no side effects to report. I usually have max 29 day cycles but Clomid sometimes makes cycles longer so I'm resisting the urge to test - also have ominous cramping which makes me think AF isn't far off.

Fingers crossed for you!

WaHEY Zebra CD32, basically late and you haven't tested... well seems we are very different souls then hehehe but super well done to you for your strength! I usually test about 5 times a month even though I usually know 100% that its gonna be negative. More like a ritual Grin

My fingers are crossed for you!

Did you use ovulation tests or have any strong ovulation symptoms?

I am supposed to go for mid cycle scan to check follicles in a couple weeks time.... EEEEEK! Fingers crossed.

My cycles are usually 35-45 days, the consultant told me Clomid should make them come down to textbook 28 days.. I'm unconvinced!

Thanks NewLeaf Smile

I've got so demoralised by BFN's after the last 2 years that I'm going to leave testing as late as possible.

I'm doing everything I can think of while clomiding, no booze, grapefruit juice, all the vitamins, legs in the air Grin, OPK's - trying to leave nothing to chance.

I didn't have any ovulation symptoms but I never do and my previous blood tests have shown I ovulated. So my consultant said there wasn't really much point me taking clomid but I wanted to try it before going down the IVF route.

EEeeek indeed, hopefully you'll have lots of juicy follicles very soon

I have a positive story.. After trying for #2 for a year with no cycles to speak of, last month I took 50mg of clomid, had no symptoms to speak of, and got my BFP on 26th! I ovulated on cd18, had my 21 days bloods which were great- progesterone of 58(!!) and I couldn't be happier.. We're with a specialist, so have an early scan in two weeks (@8 weeks).. Good luck- it can happen! Baby dust to all!

Off to take folic acid! Have a good day ladies!

So today is day 3 of clomid, actually I have only taken it twice coz I've been taking it at night rather than in the morning.

Maybe it's just a down patch but I feel quite low and depressed... And emotional while at the same time withdrawn. Not ideal for baby making...

Need to get back to the positivity, it will all be worth it!!!

5years and christelle thank u for sharing, I'm so glad it worked for you no hoping so badly it will be my turn soon! All yesterday's craziness will hopefully be worth it.

I'm sipping a cup of rooibos tea instead of coffee this morning, and cutting down on my running but keeping active.

surferchic tnx for your info, it helps make me feel relaxed about it. My consultant wants me to go for internal scan for follicles on cd12-14. But if I do it means no baby making for CD10-14!!!! Coz we will be away but I'll nip back for the scan, anyway since it's the first month I think it's better I go and check how body is responding to clomid rather an skip the ultrasound for nookie time GrinGrinGrinGrin

How ywere your cycles before surferchic?

Grin

I got a BFP yesterday! I'd gone to the supermarket to get a test on Thursday but they'd sold out (must be something in the water round this way!) So I tested yesterday and got the happy news - after 21 months of trying it's all very surreal!

5YearsTime · 07/06/2015 16:45

Oh my goodness. Congratulations!! My BFP was after 21 months too so know exactly how you feel Grin

My cycles pre clomid were a mess.. Between 35-90 days.. And I had a scan for follicles on day 13.. I don't think there's an issue with DTD and scan.. It's not pleasant, but they could see I had two dominant follicles which was awesome..

Hey ladies... Had my CD14 follicle scan today... Not feeling toooooo positive but hoping that I know
My body better than nurse statistics.

My endometrial lining was only 6mm, and no follicles on one ovary... The other ovary had a couple but the largest was only 8mm Hmm

But I'm hoping that it's just coz I usually have long cycles so they need more time to mature??? Anyway I have been asked to try 100mg clomid next month if this month doesn't work.

Hard not to feel blue... It will happen I know, just a case of when ....

For anyone else in my shoes and following, I am now (I think) 1DPO, CD22 on my first Clomid cycle.

Although my CD14 internal scan didn't show the results I wanted, I am keeping my fingers crossed and cautiously optimistic!

Think positive!

Symptom spotting to begin soon I think WinkWinkSmileSmile
