How soon after mmc for restarting supplements, and getting period?

I had a missed miscarriage. I was 8+4 and had some spotting, so went to the BEP clinic which queried a blighted ovum. As per new regulations, i had to wait another 10 days for a rescan (during which I started bleeding very heavily)

rescan confirmed blighted ovum that had stopped developing at 4-5 weeks, but hadnt come away from my womb until sometime during those 10 days. I had it removed without anaesthetic, by a lovely doctor wielding some large forceps!! on the day i would have been 10 weeks, as it was all sat in the bottom of my womb, just my cervix had stubbornly refused to open to let it come out.

I know you are supposed to start a period 4-6 weeks (ish) after an mc...my first question is...

is that timed from the death of the embryo/foetus, or from the day you had it removed?

and my 2nd question is, how soon after an MC would you/should you restart your supplements?

any help on either question would be gratefully received, and sorry if its TMI

TIA ladies xxx

Ive kept on taking my folic acid every day, but it was all the other 'fertility) supplements (EPO, Q10, zinc, red clover, dong quai etc) that i stopped when i found out i was pregnant, that i was wondering about

Hi fatty I'm so sorry to hear about your mmc.

I'd imagine your period is likely to return 4-8 weeks after you had the embryo/foetus removed. It may take a bit of time for your HCG levels to drop and to get a negative pregnancy test. Once this happens your body should then kick start the process of ovulation and having cycles again. This can very much vary from woman to woman though and can literally happen straight away for one, then take months for another so be patient with your body.

If you are planning on ttc again in the next few months, then there's no reason to stop taking your supplements. They can also help the process of regulating your cycles after your mmc and will ensure your body has the necessary vitamins etc to support another pregnancy if/when this happens.

well i started back on my supplements
folic acid, l-arginine, e.p.o, maca root, agnus castus, zinc, dong quai, red clover, Q-10, selenium, calcium and magnesium)

and my bleeding/post mmc spotting has now become a huge torrent of bleeding and clots Shock

Im taking it as my body getting rid of the last of what was left of my previous pregnancy and (hopefully) getting ready to start making a new one!
