Faint line on OPK at day 3 of "period" - help me decide whether to use my last pregnancy test or not!

So, I am trying to conceive. I have a 27-28 day cycle, i ovulated on day 20( positive opk on day 19), and began to bleed on day 27. This is the third day of my period. However it looked a lot less clotty than my regular period so I began to wonder was it an implantation bleed. I took an opk just now which shows a line, paler than the control line but unmistakable- this brand of opk for me usually never shows any response until the full dark line on o-day. I have one pregnancy test and really no funds to waste so please help me interpret this morning's opk.

Compounding factors - my first two pregn were classic missed period, no implantation bleeding at all, positive pregnancy test. Sadly they both ended in miscarriage some months later. For my third pregnancy, which was successful, I had been prescribed low dose aspirin prior to conceiving. On day 26 of my cycle, what I thought was my period began. It was slightly on the light side for a period but as I was not long after an ERPC, I didn't think this unusual. On day 11 of that 'cycle', I took my first opk which instantly turned almost black the line was so dark. So then took pregnancy test and realised I was actually pregnant and the period had been an implantation bleed. Luckily with amazing medical care that pregnancy was successful.

So,now I am suspicious that my period might now be another implantation bleed - I am on the aspirin again since starting TTC this time round. However, I only have one pregnancy test, very low funds as I am not earning right now. What does a pink OPK on day 3 suggest to all of you, especially knowing I usually ovulate at day 18++? My period also looks more liquid blood than the usual slightly clotty discharge. I know I have long missed first morning urine.

Should I (a) use my one test right now (b) use it tomorrow morning with fmu (c) continue to tinker round with opks - I have loads of these to spare and wait for further information (what?) from the opks before deciding to test?

thanks all sorry for the essay.
My first two pregnancies ended in miscarriage.

Sorry for that last line, shouldn't be there, typing on phone is moving stuff around for me.

You can get 10 cheapy pregnancy tests for 1.40 delivered off eBay.
If that's not possible, I'd wait till bleeding had stopped then take your last test with fmu.

It can get so confusing can't it! I'm not sure the OPK is really telling you anything at this stage, though. Once you get a fair few days past implantation a lot of women do get a positive OPK because of the close similarity between LH and HCG. But,if this was an actual period of yours rather than implantation bleed, then you might start getting positives in a couple of weeks from ovulation again anyway!

I guess the only way to know for sure is to do a pregnancy test, but if the OPKs are doing weird things that they don't do in a normal cycle, and if you are experiencing pregnancy symptoms, then there is a chance you are pregnant. But it's impossible to know for certain!

Another thought: I suppose you could go to your doctor and ask them to test? That wouldn't cost anything.

Thank you both, I will try ebay for cheapies but I guess my focus is more shortterm, the next 24 hours or so. I don't live in the UK so unfortunately the GP is an extremely expensive option - I envy the NHS sometimes!

Barring any further replies, I think I will continue to monitor my bleeding, if it still looks a bit different then take another opk in the morning and if that one is darker than this morning's one, then gamble on taking my test.

I have never experienced any early pregnancy symptoms like nausea, dore breasts, etc so no real guidance there. I am kicking myself that I've been too lazy to do temping!

Any other thoughts on today's opk or my vague plan welcome.

Thanks again.

Ah, didn't realise you weren't in the UK, sorry.
Good luck anyway, hope you get that bfp :)

I wouldn't use it if it's your only one and you can't get another easily. You're only ten days post ovulation, so you may well get a false negative.

What solomon said. Give it another five days at the very least and just take care of yourself in case you are pregnant after all.

I've had an implantation bleed twice and it never lasted 3 days. I also would not expect it to start only 7 days after ovulation. I could be wrong though. I would save the pregnancy test, sorry. Good luck.
