So I am 3days late for my period, was due on the 13th and nothing. Been getting cramps for a week and really feels like I'm about to come on, go to the loo and nothing except white discharge. Sorry if tmi did poas this morning but not with fmu and was a bfn. Not even a shadow of a line. Surely it would show up if it was going to be a bfp by now? All other pregnancies I would have got a bfp before my missed period. Anyone had any similar experiences? Thanks!

If you scroll down the list of threads, this happens at least once a week. Late period with negative tests. Often it's a case of late ovulation and obviously the period is then correspondingly late or bfp if ttc was successful. It is also possible to have an anovulatory cycle where you don't ovulate. This happens sometimes and for no reason. Just one of those things but it can make your period late.

Most times, you don't ever find out why your period was late and a GP will not do much until you've missed two periods (usually a blood test to rule out pregnancy and then they may give you something to restart your cycle).

It is possible that you're pregnant and it's just not showing yet. This does rarely happen.

Realistically, all you can do is wait, test again over the weekend if your af has not turned up.

Best of luck.

I just had a bit of a scroll and found another thread almost identical, didn't mean to double post, just trying to get three naughty dcs to go to bed and was being lazy! Haha! It's so annoying to be late when you're usually regular as clockwork! My uterus is obviously deciding to be a joker this month. Will poas again at the weekend if af hasn't reared it's ugly head before then! Thanks for the advice :)

Oh no, post away. I only pointed it out to let you know that it is extremely common. I think you absolutely should have your own thread. If anything else, it means you can air your frustrations. You spend months and years of your life with regular periods and worrying about accidental pregnancy every time you brush up against a fertile male by the photocopier and then you actually try and make a baby and it turns out that it's not that straightforward and your body's in on the joke.

I hope af stays away and for all the right reasons. Grin

Good luck, I hope it's good news for you. I was 13 days late on my last cycle and was getting BFNs everyday, I think I spent a fortune on pg tests! AF came on day 14 and I think it was down to stress at work but I have had friends who have tested negatively and subsequently had positives on 14dpo!!!

Oh I'm all done with having babies. DH has had surgical intervention to make sure! It took me a long time, a couple of losses and some desperate flapping to get pregnant with my first. Second time round, it took one night. I really do think TTC is the work of the devil. Grin

If your cycle continues to be irregular, it might be worth logging what's happening and popping along to the GP. How long have you been trying?

Stress or illness are the major causes of delayed ovulation so if you're particularly stressed atm, that could be your problem. Is it your first you're trying for?

It's so frustrating isn't it! And you see these teens popping out babies at the click of a finger! This will be the 4th cycle trying although I had a missed miscarriage 3 years ago and only 2 months of trying then. Since I've been tracking my cycles they've been 27 days and the last irregular one came out of nowhere and coincided with the most stressful week ever at work!

Fingers crossed this will be the month, clearblue OV tests are giving me smiley faces currently!

Thanks for your advice Grin
