We did the eod method and no opk or temping our first cycle.

Personally, I found it very stressful not to know for sure if I ovulated and when, and then also how long my luteal phase was (which matters).

We also didn't know for sure when we could stop having sex, cause to be frank, it was a LOT.

Also, it's good to have sex each day when you get that positive opk (i got two days of positive opk) and the day after.

It's totally up to you and what would work for you. See how you feel this first month and decide later based on that.

If you're having sex regularly, I don't see the point. Unless the only reason you're actually having sex is to conceive. Which is not a great reason.... Just go for it. I never temped or opk'd. Just had an app on my phone which told me when I should be ovulating based on my period and cycle length. Yes, it took 13 months to conceive for me, but I'm sure there are ladies on here who have been trying a lot longer who have been tracking, temping etc etc etc and have had no luck yet....

Ovulation is just one very small part of the whole process. It indicates when it's best to have sex. If you're dtd all the time, then no need for kits. If you've been ttc for a long time with no success, then maybe further medical investigation is required. No amount of temp taking of kits is going to change that. Good luck!

I had 2 children without charting or temping or peeing on sticks or even particularly knowing when my period was due or I was ovulating.
