Hi, hoping that some of you that are more familiar with temping can offer some advice. I've recently started taking my temp (only 2 weeks) which covered the very end of my last cycle, AF and I'm now on CD 10. My temperature seems rather low, the highest it has reached is 35.78 (which was 2 days before AF turned up). Below are my temps;
35.38
35.78
35.61
35.74
35.39
35.52
35.61
35.71
35.71
35.66
35.56
35.65
35.52

Would appreciate peoples views on whether my temps seem low or are within the normal range.

Thanks in advance

Hi BlueBird, I just started temping as well and have nearly done a full month now - my pre-O temps were in the 35s as well which I thought was really low but others on the TTC threads seem to have the same ones so I think they're fairly normal as long as they do go up after O. My lowest pre-O temp was 35.50 and post O is about 36.50.

Here's my chart if you want to compare:

So no, I don't think yours are anything to worry about but do get checked out for a thyroid issue if you are worried. You could also try temping vaginally next cycle as those temps tend to be a lot higher - if you sleep with your mouth open like I do you can be more prone to lower waking temps.

Do you use FF to chart? Would be easier to see the pattern.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply scrunchie, good to know my temps seem normal. Will be interesting to see the pattern once this cycle is complete.
I've been using Ovia although I have recently entered my data onto FF as well. Presumably I have to go online to get a link to my chart? Thanks for sharing yours, it is interesting to see somebody else's.

I've just had a random 49 day cycle so I'm not really sure when I'm likely to ovulate this cycle. Ovia suggests I'm in my fertile period now but FF is sticking to the 49 days so saying I won't ovulate until mid March. So confusing!

I used Ovia initially too and have now switched over to FF mainly as I think the charts are easier to interpret and also it tells you exactly when you ovulated based on your temps. Yes, you have to go on the online version to share carts.

49 days is a marathon cycle, wow! Have you just come off the pill? FF will update your chart based on your temps so don't worry about your ovulation prediction, once your temps go up enough it will know you ovulated and will alter.

You could join the March bus ttc messageboard if you haven't already, lots of us ttc and in the same boat so really helpful to compare charts and ask questions etc.

I had my implant out last July and although it took a while for my periods to return they had seemed to settle into quite a regular pattern (or so I thought) until the random 49 day cycle.

Hopefully I've got this sharing thing right -

FF seems to think I now ovulated on CD 10 because my temp shot up but I don't think that can be right as it's dropped again rather than staying high like yours. So as long as it's wrong then I am still in with a shot so I shall have a look at joining the March bus.

Yes your temp drop does look strange but that can sometimes happen randomly - see what happens over the next couple of days as it may go up again. You see FF only provided you with a dotted cross hair because it's not sure you ovulated, either because your temps don't add up or because other symptoms you recorded don't support your temps. When you get a solid cross hair it's a definite O (or so FF thinks anyway). You need 3 days of high temps to confirm ovulation so I'm not sure you ovulated on day 10. I suspect you may ovulate later especially if your cycles are a bit long at the moment.

Are you checking any other fertility symbols, ie, your CM?

Yeah FF has changed it's mind now as my temps didn't stay up. I'm pretty sure l haven't ovulated yet, I'm on CD21 now so looks like in for a longer cycle again. I am trying to track CM, I had been doing this in Ovia and didn't move over that data when I put my temps in retrospectively to FF. Going to stick with FF now as it seems a lot better.
