Hi ladies can anyone shed any advice on what's happening with my body and if going through or been through the same? Sorry if long winded.

My last period was 23 December, I've been using an app on my phone to track my periods as I'm terrible at remembering when I'm roughly due. They're always heavy and last 5-8 days and roughly 26-30 day cycles. My period should have been due around 20th Jan, normally I've eaten my body weight in chocolate and can't even stomach it! Had on and off aches across lower abdomen but didn't feel like AF pains and then 2 days of spotting which was very pink. This stopped and my partner and I did the deed again which felt more sensitive than normal and a day after had very slight brown spotting only when wiping. I get waves of tiredness, my tummy is still slightly swollen from when AF should have visited, still on and off dull aches in lower abdomen and it feels like twinges and stretching sensation where my c-section scar is (that scar was 4 years ago and never had problems with it). My belly and chest look like a road map of blue veins, waves of tiredness and I'm having to eat little and often because I'm so full so quickly. I've had a urine test at GP which came back negative and actually was sick that morning which is odd for me, have taken HPT and negative. Any ideas what could be going on? I'm not stressed, no change to diet apart from food adiversions and no extreme weight loss/gain or exercise.

Thanks xx

ask your GP for a blood test. If that's a bfn too, maybe a scan is in order to rule out any issues. Good luck x

Thank you, I saw my GP yesterday and they've told me I need to wait another month and if miss a second period they'll then do a blood test. Is it common to wait that long? Sorry haven't been in this situation before and feel my GP isn't taking me seriously x

Did you tell your GP your symptoms?

Report
KellyC88 · 05/02/2015 13:13

Yes I did, she told me to ignore it and take no notice of the dull pains ive had for 2 weeks. I wouldn't mind but I hate going to the doctors anyway so don't go that often. I might just wait another 2 weeks and see if no improvement or gets worse I'll be more pushier to get something looked in to x

I don't wish to worry you Kelly but you should go back as a matter of urgency. Your symptoms tie in with ovarian cancer - also known as the silent killer because you don't know anything is wrong until it's too late.
I dithered about whether to post this because I don't want to panic you, but in the end I thought that maybe if it was useful information.... I hope you don't mind. I hope I haven't done the wrong thing. It's just something to rule out anyway Smile

Hi Kelly. I am in the exact same boat as you. Even my last period was the same day. Went to the drs today as I've been ttc with irregular periods for a while. Got blood tests booked for a months time and had yet another negative hpt. It's the worst of both worlds isn't it? I just want that bfp or AF so I can focus on next cycle.

Justcallmebridget - thank you for your advice and I do really appreciate it :) the thought had crossed my mind as I did read something online about it. Don't worry I'm not panicking. Just venting as I think it's wrong as I know my body and something doesn't feel right. It amazes me how doctors are reluctant to run any sort of tests knowing other conditions that could be linked causing these symptoms. It's a shame routines aren't given as standard especially if you notice any changes or are ttc.

Cuppasarah it is annoying being in limbo! I do hope you get your bfp hun. Its strange what our bodie do to us. Years ago I used to be irregular where I bled majority of the month without much of a break, I've never had a light one unless I was on the pill and I've been off that for over a year as I've yet to find on that agrees with me.

Thanks ladies :) xxx

Wow, I can't believe I found a thread with my same situation!

Hubby and I have been TTC for 3 years now. We just finished with the fertility clinic when they told us the NHS wouldn't fund IVF (I will be 42 next month). On Christmas Day AF paid a visit. I was devastated as I really thought that would be our month.

Due to injury and illness...we missed the timing in January completely (completely!) so I wasn't really thinking about anything. However, early last week it dawned on me that AF hadn't come calling. I took a HPT (negative). About a week later, did another (negative). I then realised that the test was out of date. Brought home a new test and did that this morning (negative).

I usually run about 21-24 days for a cycle. Thinking back the bleeding at Christmas was very light. My mind is now going through all sorts of possibilities and won't turn off. Really the only way I could be pregnant would be if the Christmas bleeding was actually implantation bleeding but that would but me at about 9 weeks with negative HPT.

I've booked a GP appointment for next week but I'm really edgy. I don't really have any traditional symptoms other than fatigue and a bit of lightheadedness. I have been incredibly short of breath though but I had put that down to the lurgy I had in January.

Just wanted to add my 2p here and get a bit of support from those going through the same thing as me!

Thanks for reading :) xxx

Awww hun I'm sorry to hear that and let me know how you get on at GP. It's horrible being in this situation isn't it? I have everything crossed for you that it could be your bfp.
I'm normally 26-31 days at the most but always heavy so to just have spotting last month it is strange. I still havent seen AF, the dull aches have eased off finally just more tired, and my normal eating is being disrupted too.

Good luck hun xx

Hi ladies, I'm in the exact same boat. Had AF end of Dec, now on CD44. Had one day of brown spotting but nothing since. I've done numerous tests and all negative. It's driving me mad, just want AF to turn up!
Has anyone had any luck with the GP? I haven't been to mine yet as everything I've read online seems to suggest they're not bothered until you've missed 3 cycles.

Ah hun I know your pain! It's so frustrating! I am 19 days late and apart from spotting when I should have had my period ive had nothing at all. Lots of HPTs which were all negative, my doctor told me to wait for my next AF and if doesn't arrive or the same as last month they will run blood tests. So far symptoms haven't got any worse for me to need to go back sooner so I'm just waiting. I am hoping I'm just having an off month ??

So glad to see more people going through the same. Although not glad we're all in limbo. I chart and my chart was looking great. Showed a clear ovulation on cycle day 17, after 19dpo it went kind of crazy and my temps are all over the place. One day low one day high. So obviously not a shot at pregnancy.

My Dr has me booked in for a blood test next month. Which is for checking if i ovulate and my thyriod levels. All the mucking about with my hormones has left me with pmt boobs and nausea. So I keep thinking oh maybe it's morning sickness and poas and of course its a bfn. I just want AF so I can try out my soy isoflavines.

Just thought I'd give you ladies an update. Had my GP appointment this morning. She's confused as well. 7 negative tests and still nothing.

I've just been through all the fertility testing so have had all the usual suspects like not ovulating and thyroid activity checked already. She is fairly convinced that I am not pregnant and so has ordered a full round of blood tests to try to figure out what's going on.

As I'm not pregnant I'd really like to get on with my life....AF please come soon!!

Sorry you're still in limbo sarahcynth here's to hoping our blood tests come back looking good. I was really worried about temping in case it showed in don't ovulate and now I'm left with even more worries.

I never thought I could want to see AF so badly! But I'm thinking at least our wombs lining will nice and thick for a sticky bean when we finally do ovulate. My temps are still really wacky, but I was at my pils this week so think their cold house might have messed it up! Even if we're out I'm still hoping someone will.come back and update us with a bfp soon.

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I'm in exactly the same position. I've had symptoms of AF arrival for the best part of 3 weeks and it has literally drove me to tears.

Took my last pill in June and the cycles were 28-35 days for first few months. They've got longer as the months have went on so every cycle I keep thinking this is it surely it's BFP time! But nope...
Had my last AF on 2nd Jan after a 40 day cycle, had some dark spotting on 19th and 20th (that has never happened to me before) 3 negative tests later and now on cycle day 44.

Symptoms have been persisting for so long but they're all coming and going. Had really tender breasts all weekend two weeks ago along with very uncomfortable abdominal cramps and twinges then all of a sudden the breasts weren't sore any more but my nipples were agony to touch! for the past week I've just been really bloated and uncomfortable but zero breast and nipple tenderness. keep expecting the af to arrive but still not showing up! Angry

I never visit the doctor but after having a complete meltdown in front of my husband ( again completely out of character for me) I decided I better bite the bullet and go.

I went yesterday morning and she just advised that it's likely my ovaries haven't woken up yet so not ovulating regularly or at all, therefore delays in period arriving. I went over my cycle history as my periods were regular but were terribly heavy and painful before the pill (required 3 bag blood transfusion at one stage) I explained that I was anxious that the pill had masked some underlying issues. She agreed that it was worth looking into and has referred me for an ultrasound so that will at least put my mind at rest or highlight any problems. I've to go back for my bloods and smear test at second half (or what I think will be second half) of my next cycle.

Sorry for going on and on, if anyone could actually be bothered reading that thanks!! It's just a relief to know that people understand my frustration.

Good luck lovely ladies x x

sarahcynth sorry the GP couldn't really give you any answers, what cycle day are you on now?

livelaugh sorry you're having such a rubbish time. Can totally relate re the symptoms, my moods have been all over the place of late, flying off the handle for no real reason and in tears, got really sensitive nipples and had some cramping. I feel like AF might be on her way but really I have no idea. I've done that many tests I'm certain I'm not pregnant. I have started temping this week so I can feel like I'm doing something to try and understand my body.

cuppasarah fingers crossed for your blood tests

Here's hoping we all get some answers soon x

Thanks Bluebird89. My doc has referred me for an ultrasound. Think she could sense my distress so agreed that maybe best to check for underlying problems. I've to make an appointment to go back for my bloods around day 30 to check for ovulation and get an up to date smear (yuck) At least I'll know if there is or isn't anything wrong and can decide from there if I should start taking any potions (agnus castus or soy) to help me out.

AF arrived during last night. Never been so glad to see her! Although had horrid pains again, ended up using my DHs prescribed co codamol. I ended up pretty spaced out. ...oops!

Good luck, I really hope things settle down for you.x

Hi ladies haven't been on in a while. Please keep posted how you're doing as I'm still in the same situation. AF is due for the second time this week and hoping it will arrive or can finally get to the bottom of this. I've been constantly ill since my last AF was due in Jan (strange coming on symptom I have) and it won't shift as I haven't come on.

Waiting in limbo is horrible and wish you all the best of luck.

Hi KellyC88 What a nightmare, the waiting to find out what's going on is hard enough without having the horrible symptoms along with it. I'd say book another appointment. If you anything like I've been you'll be going mad by now having to deal with all the discomfort. Just tell the doc it's interfering with your daily life and having a negative impact on your mental health. If AF happens to turn up before your appointment then you can always cancel it. X

Yay congrats livelaugh never thought I'd be so happy to hear someone got AF! It's great your Dr is going to get things checked out. At the very least for your peace of mind, hopefully everything will come back well! I'll let you know how my soy cycle goes when I finally get AF!

Kelly I'm sorry to hear its still going on. Feeling sick is just awful, i hope you've been able to eat ok. Fingers crossed AF turns up as expected this time and if not I hope you get that BFP you deserve.

No updates here, but my opks have started fading out. I didn't bring enough while I was away last week and they were very nearly positive before running out. But my temps have been super eratic being at.my in laws and I've been sleeping badly. So my last week of temps is a write off! So annoying. Hopefully before march I'll be visited by AF. Good luck everyone, here's to us getting some answers!

Hoping we all have sanity soon and some answers. Make sure to update ladies.

The waiting is a pain, I was sick again this morning. Finding if I eat little and often I'm not as uncomfortable or queasy. I do have another appointment booked for next week Monday as I've felt a lump in my lower abdomen and not sure what that is but doesn't hurt. Hopefully will get some answers and I really want AF to show as I miss eating food normally lol!

Good luck ladies and thinking of you all xxx

Good luck on Monday Kelly got my fingers crossed for you. Bit of an update here. My temps are still a bit wacky but have stabilised a bit at a lower point. Since this is my first cycle temping I still don't know my normal though. Plus with it being the most long cycle ever I don't think any of my data will be worth anything.

But on the plus side I got my first ever, definetly 100% certain positive OPK!! My ewcm had dried up though, so no wonder we've been missing ovulation for all these months. We've been stopping DTD when the ewcm stops! I'm so glad I started using opks and temping Grin time to get shagging.

My DD was conceived on the cycle after a skipped period, so let's hope the same happens again.

So I've been throwing up all this week, sinuses haven't cleared a month later so changed my doctors appointment to today and the doctor has given me more meds to shift this sinus thing. Looked puzzled when I said ive been throwing up everyday and told me to wait up until next week and if no sign of AF go back. Should have been due anytime from Tues, God knows what my body is deciding to do?!
