Mirena coil removal

I'm having my coil removed on Thursday so that me and OH can start TTC #1.

When I had my coil fitted they told me that fertility returns straight away after having it removed and that you can even get pregnant as soon as it is removed if you DTD a day or so before.

I have no idea what to expect after having it removed. Do you have a period straight away? And when do you normally start to ovulate again? And how long did it take you to get pregnant after having the coil removed?

When I had my marina removed I had a bit of spotting for a couple of days then a normal period two weeks later. After I'd had my normal period we started Ttc ds2 and conceived straight away (smile).
Good luck

the consultant who removed mine (missing strings) said to go for it straight away, but I wanted to wait 3 cycles to rebuild my uterus lining, but that's mainly because I'd had it in for 4.5years with no hint of period during that time.

Had some spotting straight after, period returned straight away and was super regular. I'm now 11+3 and due in May.

I had mine out on the 15th October.... 4day bleed after then I started to bleed again yesterday so I'm assuming this is my period.... I haven't had a period in 2 years so I'm not coping well with it Hmm lol!
No idea about how long my cycle is or when I ovulate but I'm hoping to be pregnant by Christmas!
Good luck xxGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I've been having some real issues with my cycle while I've had the mirena in. The first month of having it in I had spotting and random periods lasting a couple of days. And then in the second month my period started.....and lasted for 10 weeks!!!! I've now had it in for almost 4 months and I get periods nearly every other week.

So I'm not really sure what will happen to my cycles with it out but hopefully they'll settle down!

I had mine out the beginning of July, had a light bleed within a few days. Haven't managed to fall pregnant yet. Doctor said it could be a year for my body to get back into the swing

I had spotting for three months when I first had mine fitted and then nothing for two years then I'd get very light periods once a month. When I had it removed my cycle patten remained the same I just had a normal period rather than spotting.
