Who wants to come and keep me company waiting out a loooong cycle?! Currently CD45 and counting! All tests bfn (despite squinting a lot) and no sign of AF! Any of you lovely ladies in the same boat?

Hi ma I feel your pain! My cycles can be anywhere from 26 to 56 days long!

Have you tried charting your bbt? I've found this has helped me loads in noticing when AF should get me as I have a 12 day luteal phase after my bbt spike following ovulation. It's stopped me constantly thinking I'm pregnant!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 19/10/2014 17:43

I'm trying to temp at the moment (have been since start of Sept) but to be honest I'm not great at it! I wake up in the night and I sometimes forget to temp first thing before I get out of bed etc. I can see a vague pattern but not always! Temps are still high but all tests are bfn and I don't feel pg tbh. Glad to know it's not just me with the long cycles!

Have you had any tests done by the docs? My cycles are erratic as I have PCOS.

I know what you mean about forgetting to take it! I've been done it since April, so it's just engrained in me now! I am quite tempted by the OvuSense monitor though. But at £390, it's a bit steep!

Oh I'm CD37 btw :-) Cramping signalling the AF is on her way. Looking forward to the next cycle attempt!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 19/10/2014 17:59

Well they were settling down into a fairly regular 31-35 day pattern but I had a chemical preg last cycle at just past 4 weeks which I think has totally messed up my cycle. Although occasionally I do just skip a period but I asked the doc who said it's pretty normal..?!

Wouldn't hurt to get your bloods done just to check?

And the OvuSense is £300, not £390!

Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy. Hopefully things will settle down again.

I'm in - CD102 here after stopping Yasmin in July. Very fed up waiting for AF. Been to GP and she said come back in 2-3 months if nothing has happens. Two BFNs after DTD following a EWCM sighting. Nothing since so feeling in limbo - just wish we could get on with TTC. Forget jumping on one of the bus threads - I'm sat in the bus shelter with no money for the fare Sad

Sorry for a rant!

otter32 · 19/10/2014 18:10

moomin that sucks. When did your ewcm stop?

I was on Yasmin years ago. It sent me loopy! Maybe it's not properly out of your system yet?

MaGratgarlik1983 · 19/10/2014 18:13

Oh no moomin that sucks - ace username though! I used to take microgynin years ago and when I came off it it took me ages to have another period. Although I didn't even think of going to the docs...oops...! Hopefully they can manage the situation with you and kick start things soon if nothing happens :)

Hey thanks for your kinds words Otter and MaGratgarlik - it means a lot Smile The GP said she could do a blood test, but said they wouldn't be able to draw any conclusions without knowing where I am in my cycle. She said I might be ovulating even though AF has not been to visit. Her advice was just to keep taking folic acid and DTD regularly - oh and she said try to relax and have the odd alcoholic drink!! The EWCM appeared for two to three days in late September - having read the 'taking charge of your fertility book' I knew this was a good sign so we DTD. Two weeks later I did a test. When I was on the pill I had loads of CM all the time, but have had nine for months, except for a few days of thin yellow CM for a couple of days on two different occasions.

I guess I just have to be patient and believe that my time will come. It's just so hard when there are babies everywhere - two this week born the friends and family...

otter32 · 19/10/2014 21:42

I know what you mean moomin. It's so hard. And if you're as impatient as me..... Well! I even hate fictional people on TV who are pregnant!

Our time will come. I believe that.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 20/10/2014 12:26

EWCM on CD46...??! WTF??!

Another long distance cycler here!

Last cycles 40 days, 93 days then 51 days. DTD turns into a marathon session, not getting positives on OPKs so just doing it EOD apart from during AF. Romantic. Or exhausting. DH Being brilliant though.

It would be lovely to know when AF was due to prevent the pointless Alan emotionally draining overuse of POAS. I'm limiting my use this cycle I've decided.

MaGrat EWCM.... Go go go! It may be DTD time, who knows with long cycles!

Bovnydazzler · 20/10/2014 14:25

Alan?? That should say and.

I will preview posts from now on!

NewLeafExpat · 20/10/2014 16:52

cd42 here.. no signs of ovulation. many mind trick signs of AF arriving then nope... just a mind game! ....

MaGratgarlik1983 · 20/10/2014 21:46

Starting to think I just skipped a period around Oct 6th and this is actually two cycles - do they count as a cycle if no period though?? Confusing!

OP posts:
martinsgirl · 21/10/2014 20:42

Well I came off the pill at the end of April. Cycles have been 29days, 58days and 72days. Currently day 23 so who knows how this month will go!

Went shopping for a present for my toddler nephew the other day and got quite upset seeing all the baby stuff. Finding it hard as well seeing all these people getting pregnant by accident :(

MaGratgarlik1983 · 21/10/2014 20:45

I know it's tough as it means less chances etc.! Still no AF for me so all quite odd!

OP posts:
NewLeafExpat · 22/10/2014 03:44

so you ladies with long cycles, do you think you still ovulate/bleed "normally" ??

my cycles are so long and either I'm no good at temping or I'm not ovulating.. (both may be true!!)
my AF is so light... it just makes me feel I'm not bloody properly.

just wondering if there's a success story to be heard despite the looooong boring cycles? :)

NewLeafExpat · 22/10/2014 03:45

that should say not bloody working properly !!

but the original I suppose makes sense too :p

chasingtheegg · 22/10/2014 07:05

Hi guys. Another long cycle'er here.

I had no period at all for 12 months, then cd49, cd15, cd50 and now, this month, I'm must have ov'd at a normal time like everyone else. . But I spent the w.e having a chemical/miscarrying.

Should I count cd1 from when I started bleeding? That'd make that cycle fairly normal at 33 days.

I'm not aiming to get preg this cycle, more trying to lay in ground work for a sticky bfp in december/Jan cycle. Am too scared ill mc if I get preg straight away?

The months just go by so long, because pinning down ov is so hard too it gets frustrating. .. trying to dtd eod makes us so tired then I panic when we're too tired to do it and miss a day or so! So I feel your pain ladies :(
