Are you too stressed out with this whole TTC thing? too much stress, excessive exercise, weight loss and weight gain can all affect your hormone levels and interfere with your menstrual cycle. If that is the reason, healthy diet and regular exercise should be the key. A simple blood test will determine whether your thyroid is doing its job. You can correct the condition with medication. Hyper or under-active thyroid gland can interfere with your periods. A simple blood test will determine whether your thyroid is doing its job. You can correct the condition with medication.

There could be variations in cycle lengths, but you will probably want to make an appointment with a gynaecologist to get checked out if your cycle is over 40 days. You also need to make sure that you have done pregnancy testing with high sensitivity test. Lower sensitivity the test is capable of detecting pregnancy only when the level of HCG reaches a certain threshold, and the test is simply not sensitive enough to yield the positive result. Try to do it with first morning urine when it is most concentrated.

Thanks for replying. I am getting stressed about ttc. I thought I would be pregnant by now and it doesn't help that af still hasn't arrived! I'm currently on cd52. This is the longest cycle I've had since coming off bc 9 months ago. I've accepted that I'm not pregnant but can't understand what's going on with my body.
I'm going to make a docs appointment tomorrow.

Awww lovely, I'm in exactly the same boat.

CD 52 for me here and BFN's all over the place. The only difference is... I can't believe mine is down to stress, (unless its the best hidden stress ever). No weight issues.

Sooo GP's for me last week, and a blood test today and we'll go from there.

It's a horrible horrible wait though isn't it? I don't want to give you false hope but I've heard of quite a few women who don't get their BFP on home tests till way later on... something to do with how much HCG your body can produce. I aint sure of the biology behind it but there's too many tales out there for it to be fabricated.

Fingers crossed for us both!
