Sorry for TMI - stringy discharge instead of period

Hi girls! This is my first time posting, so I was hoping for some friendly advice Smile

I am on my second cycle of TTC with longer than average cycles (usually 39 days). Last cycle lasted 55 days leaving me convinced I was pregnant. Very frustrating!

AF was due last week (day 39) and my BBT did drop as expected but AF didn't arrive. Instead all I am getting is stringy light brown discharge when I wipe. Sorry TMI. I did a test yesterday mornig which was negative.

Has anyone ever experienced this and if so did you get your BFP?

Thanks in advance for the advice x

I had a brown discharge you describe when my period would have been due and it lasted for about 10 days - I thought this was my period but was worried that it was very different from normal. I took a test about 2 weeks after this and it was positive. I had the same discharge about 4 weeks after the first time - the gp said this can happen as it is due to a dip in hormones and that some women get it every month all the way through. I only had it twice.

You mentioned your last cycle was 55 days so is it possible this cycle has been longer than 39 days too? If so, then you might have ovulated later. If I were you, I would wait a couple of days and test again.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your advice Smile!

You're right that my cycle could be longer. My temperature is still climbing so I'm hoping that is a good sign! X
